Good idea, but seeing as they can't figure out how to correctly add favor points, what makes you think they can add up the total negative sim rates? :P

It's actually kind of hard to learn in this game from playing better players because there aren't proper replays and you can't really see what their build is. You just end up learning things about what you could do better by getting owned in certain areas. Regardless, this isn't complaining about getting matched up against better players. I prefer to play people who are better than me for exactly the reason you stated. The problem I have is that the games tend to drag

I just find the game to be really slow and boring when you're not actually in a fight(which happens to be for most of the game). The fights themselves are decent but they're not really occuring often enough for the game to build up much excitement. It seems like a large part of the game is just watching your demigod walk between your base and the contested flags.

I get: "Attempt To Join Game Failed" dialog in custom. Not sure if this is a connection thing or a game full thing. "Failed to connect to..." in the connection dialog with some people while joining custom games games. "A player has left the game" quite frequently in pantheon.

"Customizationability" is not a word. This also seems like it would be highly impractical to implement. You'd need something along the lines of what spore does.

Some people seem to want demigods to move faster, I agree they often seem a little on the slow side but someone in another thread stated that faster movement speeds were tried in beta and it was too easy to get in and out of fights. How about making the movement speed bonuses from the items you buy in the shop more significant? Or alternatively, having more of the footwear items apply movement speed bonuses? This way you're trading speed for survivability and casting rather
Ok, maybe for a little. But the point is lost without working to em. I fail to see the issue as it's one per match. But I do agree it would be nice to playtest them all for a bit
The point of favor items is the effect they have on gameplay. They specialize your demigod a bit further with extra mana capabilities or better speed or whatnot. This makes them a critical component for developing builds. Just saving
you dont lose much gold either, casue you buy, then sell, so you make far more than you lose, especially when you kill demigods with this
The 3k gold figure is adjusted for that. It's still very expensive if you get all 24. Not so much if you go for fewer though.

Haha Idolators. The minion caps are on subtypes though Silphius. You aren't circumventing the caps, just the balance intent. It's no different from using an attack or a spell in an unconventional way to significantly better effect than the usage that it was balanced around. For example, mekboy mines in dow2 could until the recent patch, be used as ultra high damage grenades because their arming time was too fast(I think it may have been a bug, you neve
its an exploit it gives a huge unfair advantage to generals
Yes, sinking 3k gold into an army that you can't resummon is a huge unfair advantage. If you're playing against this, you have to target the minions. It costs them gold for every minion you kill. Take out the army or the player, and they'll be way behind you in equipment. If you can't do AoE, do single damage. It's not rocket science.</p
Can someone explain precisely how the minion exploit works so I can get that to GPG?
You've replied to a topic before that describes it perfectly. There are a significant number of people, myself included, who do not consider it an exploit. But basically the limit on minion summons is for each subtype. As an example, you can summon two monks, sell the monk idol, buy the bishop idol, summon two bishops, sell the bish

On the bright side, items you buy in mp stay bought. If you're really that torn up about it. Bash an easy ai in custom a few times with these settings: gamemode conquest gamespeed fast towers weakest minions strongest starting citadel level highest starting gold highest spawn rate highest Those are the important ones, you just have to buy all the way up to giants in your citadel and they'll end the game

The only commonality between demigod and the rts genre is the control scheme. Even then, I would argue the control scheme is closer to that of an rpg than an rts. Demigod is not an rts with or without persistent rewards for favor items. Not even the generals make it like one. If you've ever played an rts seriously, you should realize this. Demigod is essentially an in-round rpg as opposed to a persistent rpg. Favor items are a persistent element and they cl

I think all the persistent items should be unlocked for use without having to spend favor points on them. Some of them might need to be tweaked slightly. Anyways here's why they should be unlocked: 1. This game is not designed around persistent traits. It does not benefit from having persistent mechanics of any sort. I actually tend to think persistent mechanics are just bad full stop. Your performance should be based on your skill at

The reason oak is so good is they've been trying to balance generals by making them more and more like assassins. Oak will literally kill the torchbearer just chasing him down and swinging his ax. Sure it can be balanced, but it totally mitigates any real difference in playstyle between generals and assassins. Generals would probably need to be physically weaker if they did this. I'm not saying generals are too weak, I just object to them being assassins that can also
@ delVhar For controlling a majority of the map your war rank increases a ton faster. Tower strength kinda sorta does scale with war rank. 25 Replies 4,637 Views

I disagree very strongly with number two. As I said in my thread about curb stomps, the mechanism to shorten games should not make it so the game is unplayable when you're significantly outmatched. It should just be over faster. Exponentially scaling respawn times would just result in the losing side in these games sitting around with his screen darkened waiting to get nuked again. This would make the game much harder to learn and get into and that is definitely not a
Well even by that logic, buying an item and using its ability, then selling it and still having accesses to its ability is most certainly a bug.
The ability is to cast the summon spell, not to control the minions once summoned. A more proper analogy would be with one of the items that incurs a status effect on the enemy. It's like reselling the item after casting it, and having the status effect remain on for its duration.

Assuming stardock eliminates the summon/resell mechanic, you are effectively limited to six difficult to control minions(not counting hero specific summons) that are rather frail if you don't get upgrades for them(and also kind of frail when you do get upgrades for them). For lack of a better way to describe it, this scale does not feel right. In fact, it feels clunky and unpolished. I keep leaning towards playing assassins because of it. Obviously there are issues wit
