I did the exact same thing, bought a retail copy and then a digital copy for my Son to play and didn't even think about an issue with using the same email account. It was an easy fix however, all I did was email and explain the issue and within 15 minutes they transfered the registration to my Sons' email address and sent me an email confirmation. Make sure to include your information from the the digital purchase like the sales number and what not. I just replied b

I had this happen a couple of times and I had to reboot for the game to load again. It may be related to the server issues.
That's not a typical resolution for computer games and I don't know of any games that support it.
Would this be why the game sometimes doesnt let me log into MP, stating my username/pw are wrong? and why i freeze up after the intro video for 5 mins, or when trying to add a friend?
Yes this is more than likely related since I am having the same issue today and last night I was able to play MP fine.
You could also turn off edge tracking and use WASD for camera movement. I am playing across 3 screens at 3840x1024 and this is what I have to do.
They may be in the process of pushing an update out to point to the production servers.
Yes it would affect all mutliplayer games.
Are you sure you are not referring to the profile name? For single player you create a profile name and it can be whatever and is not linked to the Impulse accout, that is only for multiplayer. When you select mulitplayer you will be prompted to sign in with your impusle accout.
What directory was the game installed to? Make sure it was the (Program Files x86) and not the regular (Program Files) folder as that is the 64 bit installation folder. I am running Vista Home Premium 64 and it is working fine other than the server issues. Do you have all service packs and updates installed?
Servers are having issues right now might be related.
I have a top of the line system and I am also seing lag 3-4 times during a 30 minute game. It will freeze for up to 60 seconds and then come back fine. I played 7 games yesterday and had no lag at all, it might just be all the activity on the server side from all the preorder downloads or users creating accounts, not sure exactly.
