Dano just joined a game of mine and bitched at me about having a premade, even though he was on my team. Me and a friend of mine play together often. We are good players, even individually. Sometimes we have bad games, everyone does, but we are good overall. Our skill levels don't decline when we aren't with each other though, which is why I have a problem with the OP. Being in a premade doesn't make us GOOD players. We each have an understanding of the characters we play, what items to buy i

Yes Call it aggressive mode, and passive mode. Passive mode they move when you tell them to, and stand there otherwise
Congratulations on never having to deal with this before and after seeing it for the first time assuming it's uncounterable. Also believe it or not, two minion builds on a three man team is weaker than just one minion build. And you *really* don't want to bring one's record into this discussion.
I know you "invented" the "strategy" so you're defending it as much as you can here, but I've seen it a few times, not once. Played as a torch bearer against it
Shadow it's not an exaggeration ok? I was away from my citadel and soon as it started getting attacked, I ran back towards it, by the time I got there it was a few thousand HP away from death. Look at my record, and then come tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm a good player and you aren't looking at the big picture. Sometimes a combination of Demigods can not possibly counter that strategy. I couldn't do shit against it as a sedna. I had an oak on my team, once again, no
I do not think using a minion build is unbeatable and requires a nerf
Whenever a pack of minions can destroy any tower in 7 seconds, or run past them all and do 20k damage to your citadel in 30 seconds, then it needs a nerf. Maybe you haven't played against an Erebus that maxes out his minions before but it is extremely frustrating.
If his nightcrawlers had 2000+ HP you were getting stomped anyways. Also, the maximum he could have had at one time is 16. A
That's another thing. If I have to kill minions with godly amounts of life, I want to be compensated for it.
I just want to start off by saying holy shit, I just finished possibly the 2 most frustrating demigod games in my life. Erebus maxing out minion upgrades, and sending them to attack towers, and even our citadel, which almost made us lose a game we completely dominated in kills, warscore, and upgrades. If there was more than 1 erebus on the other team using that "strategy", we would have lost. There is no viable counter, as the only way to prevent it is to kill Erebus, and he can sit in his ba
So how does custom games help prevent unhandled exceptions and teammates disconnecting? And if everyone is subject to the same unfortunate pitfalls, doesn't that lead to an accurate portrayal of relative skill in the long run?
In custom games I haven't played in any games where teammates will leave or drop before the game starts, starting off in a lobby makes a huge difference, and you can see if people have good or bad conn
Started playing Pantheon for the first time. 3 wins in a row, all went great, pretty much dominated and caused the other team to concede. Next 3 games were lost, 2 unhandled exception errors, and a 2v2 where my teammate disconnected. I don't know if I can play a game where the rankings don't reflect true skill, but instead how lucky you were to not get an error. So now I sit at 3-3, and I'm not a .500 player. I don't claim to be an almighty pro, but I'm pretty damn good and I do care about re
Pressing tab is not the suggestion, I do not want to have to press tab to see the warscore.
Good god.
I agree that snipe sucks and is not good at killing and when someone has it I assume they are a noob. Snipe is really useless agains higher level demigods, we agree again. However, from that I conclude, snipe needs a buff at higher levels . I have been saying this since the beta. It has been a long time since I wasted points on it.
This is something I agree with, snipe should do more damage at high levels. My argument for nerfing
Your post sounds a bit confused:

Regulus snipe sucks.
If used improperly, which most regulus players are guilty of.
Only Noobs use Regulus.
I never said that, there is a difference between a Regulus player, and a Regulus noob. Here is my definition of a regulus noob in case you missed it before: "I'm so sick and tired of regulus players that only invest points in snipe, proceed to lose, and then blame it on t
This isn't really a rage post, because I dominate Regulus noobs, but then again this IS a rage post because I'm sick of playing against incompetant Regulus noobs. Don't get me wrong, Regulus is a well designed demigod and very fun to play, but I'm so sick and tired of regulus players that only invest points in snipe, proceed to lose, and then blame it on their teammates, or blame it on me and the class I'm playing being overpowered when I kick their ass. What they fail to realize is t
can we get some notes on what the update did please [e digicons][/e]
Sometimes after issuing an order the demigod won't respond and just stand there doin nothing.( High )
The friend I play with... his grasp on UB fails to go off like half the time. We lose out on alot of kills because of this.
From games I have played, games are won and lost based on warscore. To get warscore, you have to capture flags. To capture and keep flags you have to be able to survive against and kill other demigods by having enough health, armor and mana without returning to base once a minute or after every single fight. Therefore you have to buy items for yourself. I got in this habbit of actually spending too much money on base upgrades and being too selfless and not buy myself enough items and
You're right, I just played another game, and that was the problem. Upgrading to priests early is still effective, as long as you make sure to destroy towers that are in the lanes after you do it. This was the problem I was having is that they were just being used as free exp and gold for the other team and I wasn't doing anything with it. If you destroy the towers slowly but surely, the priest upgrade will pay off, especially if you buy it in conjunction with unit HP upgrades. If you
U WIN OR YOU LOSE YOU GO BACK TO MAIN MENU AND U JOIN ANOTHER GAME AND U REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN T'ILL U GROW CALOUSES ON UR HAND.
So what do you do in DotA that is different?
I've had a problem lately, where when winning a game pretty well or in a dead even match, upgrading to priests too soon, ends up actually greatly increasing the level of my opponents, or making their war rank shoot above ours because they are getting more kills. Does anyone have tips on when to upgrade to priests, etc.? It's just kind of aggrivating buying something that is supposed to be an upgrade and then it ends up backfiring, or so it seems.
I think it increases you gradual income by # amount per tick.
Yeah it does, I just tested it, which still is a huge difference.
Well, assuming they weren't Nightmare AI, I'd have to say they simply knew how to properly upgrade their Citadel. They could have purchased the experience upgrades or the +experience gain favor item to boost their levels. If the other guy was left alone enough to creep they would have gained quite a bit of xp as a result... Even more so if they were the Queen of Thorns as she tends to level fast due to her AOE capabilities. It also seems
Right now you can only max out one MAYBE two skills for any demigod...and even then you have skimp out on the other abilities to the point they are too weak late in the game.
You do realize that's the point right? You are supposed to build a character, and not be able to just get access to everything.
Me and a friend just finished playing a 2v2 on prison. It was a custom game, created by someone else. Me and my friend had them up in their base for most of the map except one time when they made a push. We dominated them pretty well, I had 4 kills, my friend had 6 kills, the 2 guys on the other team each had 1 kill. They seemed to be loaded on money the entire game and were buying alot of upgrades for their base. On the final stat screen, they had ridiculous numbers compared to ours, includi
The exploit is ineffective in the long run, especially if you play against demigods such as torch bearers, regulus with mines, basically anything with a halfway decent AoE. With my Oak the only bought minions I ever use are healers. And I usually end up maxing out spirits because of all the increased damage and end up hitting very hard by endgame.
Some fixes are coming in this week to make it easier to connect during skirmish and pantheon Modes. I think the problem with these 2 is there is no confirmation or anything and people get uneasy during the 5 minutes you're trying to connect and give up. I have yet to play a skirmish/pantheon game that isn't over half bots. As far as bots are concerned, they really are terrible. If you go around the back of the base and capture a portal, they don't respond and just keep
