I agree with the OP, if titans were all just glorified battleships, it would be boring. Anyway i think the devs are looking at this the same, seeing the obvious distinction between the Ankylon and Ragnarov, and then those planned abilities for other Titans... Agreed about one of the Advent Titans, possibly Rebel´s one, being fighter heavy compared to others to make it more unique....
I agree, stop trying to Nerf it and stop trying to keep people who want to build it fast. Its equal across the board, if one player can do it. then so can the other players. Its not unbalanced. to me, having a Titan early will keep those who like mass building frigates and trying to rush you. The Titan is the great equalizer. and I like it this way. Again, this is a matter of choice for each player. you either decide to
Thinking about it bit more, i would remove the saucer and the legs, so only the central part and those 2 pairs of wings would remain. I would perhaps accept the disk to remain as well, if it kept its concept art design, but the ingame version with that ornament is IMHO horrible. If it rotated and fired some strahl from the center of the disk, it could look quite good. Have no issue with Coronata design. I think the "shockwave" from the "arc" part is a good idea. Anyway,
GoldFrapp is great. I absolutely love their Seventh Tree album.
yes, becuase of that iam voting for making titans weaker specalli there regenerate abbilities might be to strong. i woud wish they die more easy to regular units , to negate this titan heavy playstile. actually the game is forcing you to plan everything around the titans. Iam missing the old ealry till midgame diversity in multiplayer. like all sayed the are some ways to solve that ..delay&n
Yeah and it is the most annoying as well, nothing worse, when 2 hours into the game you find out that your buddy and you play basically 2 different games [e digicons]:D[/e]
Please tell me that there will be other playable races in the next patch. I am dieing to play the Advent.
Million times this, just add Vasari in as well, i cant wait to try out those pesky Vasari Loyalists...
are kinda plain and underwhelming. Its funny considering how some smaller ships have actually textures too complicated, like kodiak heavy cruiser for example...
I think majority of additions made the game better and richer than the vanilla was, the only thing i am not sure about is diplomacy. I mean, diplomacy brought some good things like pacts, but in general, i think, it was a step in a wrong direction. I know the devs are trying to create RT4X game, but as i see it, its always going to end up primarily RTS game, spiced with those 4X elements, but not true hybrid, because IMHO its never going to be good/deep/complex/slow enough for the hardcore 4x
Yeah, black holes would be cool. 2 or 3 years ago, when i watched Battlestar Galactica´s final episode and saw Cylon Mothership in the orbit of the naked singluarity, first thing i thought of, was Orkulus, lol. Now how brilliant would it be, if i could hide my Vasari Loyalist Titan near the blackhole in a similar manner.
I wonder whether its main cannon ability - Snipe? has minimal range? If not, it should definitely have one, as it would aurely look awkward if it tried to fire at something too close and and not in the straight line.
I think, they should remove that saucer part of the Rebel Advent titan and those hideous "ornaments" - whatever it is. Then it will look decent.
I concur
I just wanted to take a moment to mention my impressions of the Beta, thus far. I've found the time to play a few games, and I've come away with a few thoughts. First, I'd like to explain my play method: 1) I tend to play with maps featuring "few" planets. I like a balance of 4-7 per player, with 7 being pretty high. I enjoy games where eking the most out of planets, and utilizing limited resources is a competitive ed

Who nuked it? [e digicons]:O[/e] It was my precious....
I am talking about the one with screens of all Titans and their abilities...am i blind? Or was it deleted?
You have to look at it from their position (Ironclad). Firstly, i do not think, they need unlimited number of betatesters, there is surely a critical mass of testers, whose feedback they are capable to follow. If there was for example million people testing the game, and every single one would create only one single thread with his feedback, do you honestly think anyone would be able to read through all of it? The other thing, you need to look how specific game Sins is. I played few f
I never understood what is the source of fun in this for people, who play this kind of games - BTW probably majority on these boards, so maybe someone can elaborate. Going into battle with type 11 lazers while the enemy only has type 5... That's the joy of it.
Fair enough. Unfortunately not working for me.
Quoting TorinReborn, reply 14Didn't you just say highly rated? How does that go hand in hand with a crap show like Falling Skies? Ratings don't always pertain to critical ratings. I was referring to the viewership ratings. The show premiered with 5.9 million viewers which is very high for cable and for TNT. Terra Nova has already been canceled and Alcatraz is likely to be as well. I stand by my earlier point. &n
Its because the game aspired to be at least partially 4X, where huge techtrees are one of the corner-stones of the genre. I agree with you though, i would prefer smaller tech-trees with more unique, specific technologies to research. I hate the 4x approach "lets research Laser Level XII", which is going to be marginally stronger than 11. I never understood what is the source of fun in this for people, who play this kind of games - BTW probably majority on these boards, so maybe someone can el
And that is why i decided to preorder it. I would like to have it in a shiny box, but if its not going happen anyway, why wait another god knows how long, when i can play beta now?
I was not disappointed by the designs, I certainly do not think any of them look horrible. But I was surprised at a few of the designs. The Vasari Rebel ship (the "flower") came as a shock compared to their loyalist ship. Since their Loyalists are the ones that eat entire planets I was expecting the Loyalist ship to be the stranger of the two (it reminds me a little of their Orkulus starbases so I was expect
I would like to know the ETA of Beta 2 too. I know there was said, that things are going to be ready, when they are ready, but i do not believe there is not some kind of basic plan in the mould "if everything goes as it should, then...". I wonder about the updates for the current beta as well, whether they will be released like small fixes in shorter periods, or there will be one major update lets say in month or 2, or possibly all the bugs will be fixed only with Beta 2 release
I do not mind the looks of the new Titans, i suppose they could look better, but as far i am concerned, i like the shape of the Vasari Loyalist Titan, which will be my faction of choice. Funnily, at first i was horrified, when i saw it, marking it as "oversized fighter". but the design grew on me. There is one thing though, i do not like about the graphics. The chrome/mirror-like glossiness of both TEC and Vasari ships... when you look at them closely, they have the metallic specular
