I really love the calculator on this page. It let's you play around with different builds and check out their effects. The most useful info I got out of it was how the various mana regen items stacked. http://www.demigoddb.com/

I'm not going to draw any conclusions on balance as I'm garbage at the game, but "minion erebus" is definitely the first thing that comes to mind when someone asks me who the hardest DG is to combat, and who I'll refer to when people are claiming whatever other DG's are OP. The most luck I've had so far is with the Orb of Veiled Storms. I haven't gotten around to trying parasite egg yet, I keep forgetting.

I have reservations about them myself. It becomes luck based whether you get the potion you can benefit the most from, and it contributes to that downward spiral effect for when you start losing. I'm not calling it unbalanced as it's obviously the same for both sides, but fun and frustration are things to consider as well.

I don't think anyone has drawn any conclusions on it's balance yet, we're just airing our thoughts on possible problems. I'd assume his warping will have a limited range and not something you could use to pull other players halfway across the map. Like someone mentioned though, I'm just reserved about other dg's being able to pull me around in the first place. Even if it's balanced, it has the potential for having this certain amount of annoyance and frustration tied to it in the same

High damage skills is not the same as DPS. I don't find his mines or snipe to be good DPS at all, but still great damage. Whether someone is support/tank/whatever is just a matter of definition and arguably even subjective. Personally I find tank to be a supportive class, but a direct damage class can also be support depending on the nature of how the damage works - like snipe. I guess if someone asked me for a definition, I'd say 'support' basically implied that the class is

Yeah I only learned that this could repair buildings yesterday, which I thought was really cool. The cost of it in terms of repairs seems just right. I keep wanting to try it as a finisher but I always get greedy and think I can get the kill without it. If you start casting it on someone who keeps running way out of it's range, does it complete the cast or abort?

Descent and Alone in the Dark were the only games installed on my first computer. I had to turn down the graphics in Descent as my rig could barely run it, I think it was 160hz (with the turbo button on!). Before that though I used to play Dune2 and some pirates (sid meyer's?) game on my dad's puter, and Parsec on his Texas Instruments which I think was the first game I ever played.

These things aren't hard at all, and I'm reserved about even calling it a 'problem'. All I'm saying is that it would be nice to see at-a-glance what games are running default settings or not.
i dont see any problem with items, not even with hp ones
Do you ever buy scalemail?

28 Replies 18,382 Views

I think it'd be better to make health as a mechanic less important. I'd assume even if they halved HP items across the board, it wouldn't make armor or damage that much more desirable.

We all know exactly how the range increase for regulus let's him outrange towers. We're pretty comfortable in assuming that it's intentional, due to how accurately he outranges various towers between the different levels of the range skill. The issue is that him not taking damage from the towers isn't such a game-breakingly big deal. Generals can pretty much do it with monks, Rook can do it while healing himself at the same time as dealing massive DPS to the tower, and I'm sur
i cba todo some maths but i figure he takes out towers like 5 times as fast as any other class
How on earth does he get that kinda damage? As Sedna I can take down towers pretty fast while shrugging off both the tower's damage and someone attacking me, sometimes without even using MP as monks tend to cancel out the damage I'm taking. I'm sure Erebus could do it even faster, as his Nightwalker
so u chase regulus all the time so he cant kill towers?
I was beaten, but.. Yes. If all it takes to chase him away from my tower is to run up to him (and it usually is), then I'll gladly to it. Just for good measure I'll grab his flags on the way back to his towers as well.

He can take them on safely, but it's going to take him forever. Other classes can take them down way faster. The idea is that you're not supposed to leave him alone while he does it. This kinda reminds me of people claiming the minigun type weapons are OP in every single unreal game. It's guaranteed slow damage, and is balanced out by the fact that you kill them with something harder before they wear you down slowly.

71 Replies 126,873 Views

I'm just a demo player myself, but I find him just fine. I find Erebus to more frequently enter a state of "man, how am I supposed to beat that?". Though it should be noted that I dont think the demo got the hotfix for his exploits. I wouldn't complain if Regulus' mines took a fraction of a second longer to 'arm' after being thrown down, but only because of command lag. There has been times where I see him start casting it and immediately move away, but still take full damage from the

The only thing I'd really want as a tool against this - problem or not - is that there is an indicator in the list of games or in the game's lobby to show that the options are non-default. An icing on the cake would be that the altered settings be highlighted in the options screen to make it easier to spot. Granted, the 'problem' with nondefault games is more the impatient hosts who will boot you if you spend anything more than 5 seconds readying up. More than a couple of times have I

I saw some of the videos for this thing, and think it's looking a bit too 'grounded' and slow to be tribesy. I go to Fallen Empire: Legions for all my tribes needs these days. It's a bit more boiled down (ie. no vehicles or deployables) for better or worse, but they've really done a good job on the core movement and combat. http://www.instantaction.com/
