You now have an iPod, and therefor are stuck with iTunes. My condoleances. I wish the bathroom would clean itself.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Following indications of a delay , BioWare has now confirmed that Dragon Age: Origins has been pushed out of October and is now slated to release in November.
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59904
Hmm funny, most online games I played (not counting WOW) - which aren't many - I regularly saw girls on the server. Sure, not that many, but that was in the days that women on average didn't play much to begin with. Maybe it's the servers I played on. I play games to relax, not to be the best, and tend to chose servers with very relaxed people. I can imagine girls preferring them too. Problem is, they usually kicked my butt :( Then again, everyone did :p except with Enemy Territory, god I was
Granted, but ignoring human rights the CIA pushes you in a fan and kidnaps you. You spend the rest of your days in an isolation cell in the Sahara dessert. When the guards say that you can take a swim you are excited, only to find out they meant you will be waterboarded. I wish alcohol wouldn't make me do funny things and say funny stuff.
that's for other reasons that don't need to be discussed in this thread however.
Errm, why not? I'm quite curious about those reasons. Maybe it's a bit offtopic but it's from GPG too so not entirely.
I've had a lot of great experiences in Demigod, but some of the worst have been in so called Pro games. I'm sure many will say my experience was deserved. However, it is funny to me how so called Pros are really better than they think they are IMO.
Exactly what I've been saying all this thread :)
I'm sure I'll get hammered for saying this, but I'll say it anyway. I'm a guy with a terrible record (2
I'd still like to see a definition of a pro. Normally less than 1% playing a game/sport is a pro. Yet everyone, be it a total noob, still noobish, average, good, awesome, thinks he's a pro. While my (made up, yet logical) statistic dictates that it's pretty much a given that they're not. Although ofcourse everyone will argue they belong to that 1%. Develope some good and absolute (that means measurable or factual) arguments to define a pro. I think most people in this thread
In fairness, the video doesnt visually do LoL justice. "Absolute superiority" is debateable and it sounds like your bragging about this really awesome house built on weak foundations. Imho graphics is probably the least important feature when it comes to these types of games moreso in Demigod as you probably play like most (super zoomed away) and missing out in its detail glory. The maps themselves are pretty plain.
Well, in fairnes
I've never played the game, but the music rules [e digicons]:D[/e]
Can someone please explain to me what the "minion in buildings" bug was? Or maybe give me a link to a topic that elaborates on it? I'm pretty active on this forum but it's the first time I hear about it [e digicons]:|[/e]
I always feel sorry for people that bought the game but don't have the hardware to run it, but also I think "WTF does anyone even READ the minimum requirements?"
I agree. I'd love for the towers to become some kind of objective at which you have to mount 2 or 3 offensives before you can take it down. At the moment once you hit a certain level it becomes a mere nuisance like "hmm no enemy around, flags are okay, I might aswell gank some towers away now". They are feared early game, but laughed at later in the game. Sure the game doesn't have to last forever, they need to go down sooner or later, but I'd love for it to actually require some effo
By that meaning, no .NET 3.5 redist problems, directx-specific errors, and such. S2Games is so awesome because of that.
LOL you have no idea how funny this is to anyone that actually knows something about it :p
Hmm you might want to anyway. Different chipset drivers etc can really mess up your system.
The fact that most PC enthousiasts that test W7 actually make it their main OS should tell you enough about its stability. But you can't argue with people that are afraid of change ;)
Haha true, wise words actually, but I'll just keep discussing it as this thread was made for that.
wait wait..there are tons of active items in HoN/Dota, in demigod yes you get to select new abiltities every level, but most of the time you just rank up the same stuff you already have, so your still just as limited, the bar still has 4 buttons on it just like in dota/hon
While the last part is often true, except for hybrid builds
The irony is in that both parties think they are right and the other ones are wrong. Although Jafo's point about Apple is valid in my opinion he choses a rather blunt way of saying it. Apple fanboys [to pc users]: "You suck!" Jafo [to apple fanboys]: "No, you suck!" ..doesn't quite make a useful discussion.
But Windows doesn't block anything.
Yes it does. Maybe not in ways you know of, but it does.
People run Windows under admin most of the time. Your telling me Windows 7 is different?
Yes and no. First of all I want to agree with you that running windows as an administrator is a bad idea, and it was a bad design choice to begin with. As far as I can tell from Windows 7 now you are technically an administrator
They use servers rather than p2p. By having servers, 1 person sends the sam info to everyone and only recieves info from each person about their individual actions. In p2p, everyone runs the simulation and sends there sim with their individual actions to EVERYONE else. This means in p2p you send at minimum 5 times the info if you are not the server. Since most people have limited upload, this is the main cause of people's issues. <br
I'm sure they will do all the damage they can. But that's just the point. As an OS you can restrict what a virus can and cannot do, atleast to a certain point. Simple - yet extreme - example: if you do not allow applications to write to your harddrive then they cannot infect your system (I'm sure if you twist my words you could come up with some cases to claim otherwise but this argument is just to give you an example). A 'system' as we use it has many abstraction layers. A virus needs t
um what? why would it wait to send data.. especially for gaming.
Like he said, if not then compressing data would not be of much use at all. There are a lot of different ways to compress, but I'm sure you can imagine that trying to compress an 16 bit string is not of much use. Also, the smaller the data, the bigger the overhead. You could even end up with more overhead than actual data, in theory.
dem
1) better safety, which well.. needs no explanation. Compared to the old win98 days it's a lot harder to get a virus, although certainly not impossible. I've gotten PCs with over 100 virusses from family before, I'm pretty sure it'll never get that far anymore with W7. I think the average user would actually have to do some seriously wrong stuff to just get one now. Since Windows has 95 percent of the desktop share I give it
ACtually if you have another partition or external harddrive you might wanna consider backing up the game if you have a slow connection. It'll save you the download. I could get it at 2+ MB/s (yay impulse servers!) but if you got a slow connection and you want it installed fast then backing up is the way to go. Note though (and this sucks big time about the backup function) you have to install Demigod on the same OS version as you backed it up on. I made a backup on XP and tried to in
@ mooster Actually that would be a wise idea. Assuming that your parents are the type of user that neither cares or knows about how PCs work they'd (or in case you are their helpdesk, you too) roughly have 3 advantages: 1) better safety, which well.. needs no explanation. Compared to the old win98 days it's a lot harder to get a virus, although certainly not impossible. I've gotten PCs with over 100 virusses from family before, I'm pretty sure it'll never get that far any
