Good for you-- as far as the game saves go though, can't you point your My docs folder to the other partition as well? I believe the games are saved within the my docs folder and if that entire directory points to the other partition (or drive) the the next time this happens, your saved games will be, well, saved as well.
Yep that should work too. Some programs still mess up when they hard code to your c:\ drive but to be honest those

Yes actually MS' idea is a good one, as crashmatusow said installed data normally doesn't change, and if it does it could indicate malware. Also, having multiple users on the same PC doesn't make saving user specific files in the data folder a pretty solution. Hence they opt for everyone storing their files in the profile folder, which is a decent solution if you ask me, Linux does it the same way (sorta). The problem is that above method does not take partitions into consideration. I
Nope they are not. To be fair I don't understand all the Vista trash talking happening today. Yes, the launch was a mess, I'd say 75% external from companies that refused to make some decent drivers, and 25% MS' problem with some silly bugs. It wasn't much fun, but also not that big of a deal. I have started to use Vista regularly after SP1 came out, and I have to say that it is a pretty solid system. It may not be the fastest OS out there but it does its job well enough. So I re

Well you can hardly blame an old game like that for it. I do however blame Blizzard for never offering us higher resolutions and accompanying field of view in a patch.
I still wonder how the upgrade process works though. I don't have an XP install on my PC at the moment (it's W7 RC) but I do have an XP license code. Then again I might wanna use that license on another hand-me-down PC for my girlfriend.

RTM simply means the code is 'final' enough to press the DVDs of it/build images of it and ship it stores and OEMs. An OEM version basically means that Microsoft sells it to a manufacturer who in turn can put it on a
LOL no. I have a happy relationship but/so I'd never dare tell a woman that she's now my girlfriend. If that worked I'd have a whole harem by now :P Actually in my younger days [e digicons]:|[/e] a friend and I once pretended to be a girl in a random chatroom (hey, we were like 16, and intoxicated, I plea innocent!). You wouldn't believe the stuff we got in private chat. It was funny for us and we even got a guy to send naked pics of him (ewwww) which made us laugh non-stop for about

Forgive me for highjacking this thread for a second :)
Basically, you can never be too prepared. Having a solid skill set is of course the most important thing. But if it comes down to two candidates who are equal in skill, who do you think stands the better chance? The one who has first-hand knowledge of our products, or the one who just read the web sites and a few reviews?
Ofcourse, that goes without s
Granted, but because the human psyche is so apathic against change, you go mad in a week. I wish I had my new hardware delivered today.

Sometimes I notice that a host with good record hosts a game (he may advertise pro only, but not always the case). Usually the host will make an effort (obviously they want to keep their good record) to get good players on their team. They will ask the bad player to move down, or kick him. But they usually don't m
Well he has some strange views on the hitting girls stuff - some people have anger issues in general - but I mostly agree with him. The reason gays, women, black people, etc 'need' the rights they fight for is because they have been oppressed into shame of their own kind, which is ofcourse very wrong. No person should have to defend his own person (except criminals ofcourse, but that's a whole other matter). But I do not like the world in which everything is racist or not racist, sexi

Supreme Commander. Gonna buy the game :)
What does stacked teams mean? All players with high win% on the same team?

If you install newer ones yourself you shouldn't let WU install them again for you. Drivers are recommended, but not critical updates, you you can chose to install or not install them. I've become addicted to supreme commander (I know, late late, but I usually don't like those games so I skip them at first). I'm gonna buy the game I think :) Finally a game with a single player campaign I can actually handle.

KNOW THE COMPANY AND THE PRODUCTS. If you want to work here, know the applications & games we've developed & published. Be familiar with Impulse, take a look at our desktop applications. Not knowing the company or the company's products when you apply in may be OK at the resume
The forums are dodgy today :\ I'm looking forward to my Windows 7 RTM, although the RC still runs great here. Just need to figure out how to get it, we don't have a discount program where I live which sucks donkeyballs.
That's because it's mostly the fault of hardware and software manufacturers, not MS ;)

I'd go with Freelancer too, but I haven't played any of the games you mentioned so cannot say if they compare.
