Clearly none of you have ever played with Paladins and Incarnation. Paladins are unique to High Men and are the most powerful units in the game. Period. End of sentence. Firstly they are cheap, they can be made quickly at every one of your high men cities. They have the best hit points, armor, attack, defense, and abilities. First strike allows them to ALWAYS move first and damage first, they move far too. No other creature, summoned or otherwise, can stand up to the first undefended

Not really a lot of lag per se. Just the game runs at 350 ms. Meaning, any connection speed or latency better than 350 ping is ignored. So... the game isn't super responsive, but it plays well and the lag isn't noticeable unless, and this is a GIANT unless, someone's connection jumps above 350 ping. Then, the game grinds to a halt. Also, the online play is disrupted by slow computers. This is measured by Sim Speed, which is essentially a measurement of each computer's ability to play

Experienced players can go back and forth forever about The Beast. Which is why he is such a great character. Inner Beast and diseased claws are like yin and yang, as are spit and ooze. You can go for both or just one of each skill depending on your play style. But they are all valid choices. I think the only poor choice on Beast is stats. Though I have never really been able to use Bestial wrath effectively. That is why QoT is such a piece of crap. There are only 2 skills worth a dam

All your assumptions thus far are pretty much correct. Bravo. Blood of the Fallen is probably the best favor item for general usage. It just plain helps every build, i would stick with that until you are comfortable venturing into more complicated strategies. Blade of the Serpent with Torch Bearer for instance. Staff of Renewal with Regulus. BoF is really the only favor item that doesn't require more complex understanding of the game's mechanics to be useful. Regulus is the mo

I can attest to the power of this build. I've been playing a variant of this for a long time i like to call Torchbearer tank. The main strength is that people don't realize how much AA this character has, and noone is expecting the tanking and high hp. Also with Blade of the Serpent you can outlast anyone in a mana battle. In another answer to Epiphenonenom's question. Switching forms to frost almost doubles the AA of TB in early game. It more than makes up for the time wasted in switching. B

Well that proves what the developers were thinking. But given the development and QA history of this game can we really trust that they cared at all about the balancing issues this created? The fact remains that this mechanic, intended or not, still breaks the balance of this map. And that reduces the number of playable maps.

This exact thing happened to my game with Systemscrash! When it was obvious his team was losing, we were closing in on his base with a 2 war score lead, priests and all 4 demis, The game went into convulsions and became unplayable. When I asked the opposing team to concede so we could rematch, chat still worked fine btw, they all conceded without hesitation. Except for systemscrash, who never responded again. After about 5 minutes my team conceded in frustration. Systemscrash got the win.

I like where this discussion ended up. Good work spooky. [e digicons]k1[/e] However, I feel that the issue still is too loaded. Even with intense defenses set up and modded, Crucible-goers will still be wary of playing with an Erebus. Which still leaves us with ONE FEWER MAPS. This is the real issue at hand. That there are woefully too few maps that are balanced and playable. The only way to free Crucible from the nether world of maps is too nerf gap-jumping.

Clearly a map change is not in the works. This is obvious from numerous frogboy posts discussing the matter. But I think it could be simpler than that. Erebus' batswarm and other short, non-targeting, teleporting abilities need to be limited from crossing gaps. This would effectively eliminate any degenerate map-related exploits and would permanently put the issue to rest. The question is: Is the benefit (to the overall gameplay experience) of crossing chasms worth the destructive and easily

I think we're losing track of the point of this post. This game was clearly set up to exploit erebus' batswarm on the map. The last second switch to erebus right before launch proves it. The playing public should be aware that these two players are planning on pulling a bait and switch. If you want to have a drawn out portal-locking festival then say it in the lobby. DON'T just assume we have all come to a consensus that erebus is a well balanced character for Crucible, and expect a t

When these two lovely children start losing they resort to batswarming over the chasm into our base on Crucible. BTW I thought this was fixed in a previous patch. DO NOT PLAY with FrenzyMax and Sharinganx3. Losers/griefers/all around A-holes. Also, switched character to erebus last second before match started. Usually not a problem, but it reminded me of pre-nerf erebus bullshit, I should have known it was a bad sign. Obviously set up for the exploit. It didn't happen once before it was obvio

Dear Starchy, Well I'm glad you've read this post and now know we won. We could not have pulled it off without you, that is until you left. I was really surprised when you did, so I guess it makes sense that you HAD to leave for real-life reasons. Anyway you rock as OAK especially for a new player. Look for my games, they are usually the US 4v4 Free Beer! custom games. Also, don't sweat the quit, sometimes we just have to leave, just next time t

- Noobs suck. We all know it. We hate playing with them and semi-hate playing against them. That being said, as a community we should be embracing bad players and showing them the ropes. Yelling and bitching at new players will only serve to keep our pitifully small community ever smaller and less relevant. This isn't dif
