I love the new Rebel Advent Titan design.
..This one? Did they change it somehow from this concept? I absolutely love the main body and wings, and even the little disk thingie, but what really throws me is those "legs". They just look far too fragile and... pointless.
However, still sucks to be non tec ^^
Advent can get Hardened Cities from the Harmony Tree at a low tech level, and I'm fairly certain Vasari have something in the Empire Tree to help them withstand bombardment as well.
My biggest problem with the Rebels is that they don't get the experience of feeding off neutrals and Pirates. If the bad guy has an impenetrable defense and all you are doing is sending free pirate exp to him . . .
TEC Rebels vs. Loyalists is a classic RTS matchup, Earlygame/rush oriented faction vs. Turtle faction. In that matchup as Rebels, you win fast or you're pretty much screwed. T

Well after a 2v2 I just played I think I figured out their role as "brick your opponent's computers when you stalemate by building 600 of them and jumping them around." I have never been more satisfied in Sins than getting to watch those little bastards burn by the hundreds.

Rebels definitely have strong early game options with their truces, one doesn't even have to rapidly expand and take everything in sight, you can just waltz past the now-friendly fleets and seize chokepoints (now with bonus defenders) with ease, then you can capture the other planets under your domain at your leasure. At least personally, to me, I prefer the Rebels due to sheer fun factor and loving the early game small scale warfare, making friends with the NPCs and aiding

A "titan is under construction" message within the first 15~20 minutes should be a giant "RUSH ME! RUSH ME NOW!" sign.

I'm fairly certain their intended role was disabling Titan passive regen. Whether they work for that role or not, I don't know, I just reasonably presumed fielding them against Titans would just get them swatted by the dozen.

The problem strikes me as this: Is there a viable way to counter mid-game Titans short of already having your own Titan fielded? As much fun as they are, I'd rather not have the game be nothing but Titan rushing and Titan vs. Titan. I'm willing to give it a bit more time and see if there's a cost effective midgame way of bringing them down without a Titan of your own, but if there isn't, we have a problem. Nerfing them too heavily would kind of defea

To your first complaint, mousing over the research button will show you both what is currently being researched and it's progress and what's queued up behind it. As for knowing if you need more research stations, again, mousing over the desired research will give you the information you need. The background of the tech trees also changes colour as you gain more research stations to show what you can and cannot research. I'm fairly sure stuff you've already researched "
- Will a TEC Rebel be able to take the artefact planet from the initial neutral forces when "Truce amongst rogues" has been researched?
Not unless someone else wipes them out and bombs them, since you can do neither due to the alliance with them. Devs are apparently already looking into this.

As has been stated, I wouldn't call this an "advantage", as the Artefact Planet is a populated planet, meaning that the TEC Rebels cannot take control if they have Truce Amongst Rogues because they can't bomb the colony. It's a clear disadvantage, as they'd have to allow another player to bomb the planet for them.

It also limits the mass of defenses you could have guarding the Titan Foundry. The things are such blatantly broken game enders that I can easily see people dropping masses of defenses on preventing counter-assaults on the shipyard.

On the third point, that second star houses the "Artefact Planet", a heavily defending neutal planet that is the objective of the Artefact win condition. It's odd that it pops up in non-artefact games, but it does.

I've had this happen to me, I captured a pair of frigate factories, and they continued producing enemy ships. I was unable to control them in any way aside from scuttling them. Captured Gauss Guns were also a little wonky, I think I saw them auto-firing at eachother, unlike the frigate factories though, I could control them and direct their fire.

I can't really make any kind of coherent, detailed feedback right now, but I just wanted to express my sheer glee at the pirate alliances I tried out in a short game as TEC Rebels. Having the pirates both be on your side and send you reinforcements is not only incredibly fun and entertaining, but opens up a lot of new strategies with TEC mobility (ie. backdooring into enemy territory through the pirate base.) Additionally coordinating your attacks with incoming pirate raids, which admitte

Honestly I'm only going to reply to one part of this post; Catas are siege reinforcements. Their job is to kill towers. They're also glass cannons as they have around the same health as Priests, I believe, easy to take care of. Increasing tower range to compensate for the SIEGE REINFORCEMENT's range would make them useless because they'd die in one or two shots.
