That Loyalist Titan upgrade has one very distinct use as far as I can see Exidius. Negating TEC Loyalist Militia Buffs. If the Advent Loyalists instantly capture the planet, it's no longer a friendly planet for the Loyalists, therefore they lose their buffs.

What's worse, they pick these paths even if another same amount of jumps path is available, if the path to it is even a tiny bit shorter. I shouldn't have to shift-click to baby sit their movements. =P But I agree with your first issue entirely, it's a small t

A look neither titan comes anywhere close to.
Really? The Radiance? It has to be my least favourite Advent capital, and most Advent ships are anything but "sleek and deadly" looking, including the Radiance, the thing is incredibly boxy. I'm drawn more towards the like

To raise a more creative solution to making Titans counterable, in my eyes (and I theorycraft), the best way to bring down a Titan of any sort is kill it's antimatter dea d. Unfortunately our absolute best weapon against antimatter (light frigates) are completely nonexistent against a Titan. This leads to the Dunov, Radiance and Kortul, two of which are fairly lackluster otherwise, potentially seeing more play as Anti-Titan Capitals. What would anyone think of incr

The Vasari may be better equipped to deal with the Ankylon, hell they'll probably devour the thing, but that's only because what they do best is single target damage. However, the races in this game should not operate on rock/paper/scissors, they never have, so saying that the other races

There are no "beta keys". Preordering the game gets you into the beta. If you already have Trinity or Diplomacy, you even get a discount.

During this preview, Blair mouses over a few of the unique Advent Rebel techs, if you pause, you can read the descriptions. Return of the Fallen: The power of the purified Unity causes some ships to be revived from time to time. Meh, may as well throw in the voice responses for the new Advent capital, I can't make heads or tails of what it's supposed to do, maybe one of you can. Pirate Titan would be a no. A Pirate Capital (salvaged Kol, most likely) wouldn't be out of the realm of posibility at this point in time, but if it were added I'd only want to see it guarding the homebase or when someone's dumped like 15k on an extreme level mission for the pirates.

I didn't realize it was random, I presumed that it was always Ankylon, Advent Loyalist and Vasari Rebel, I shall go check it out now, thanks. Edit - Right you are, that's looking much better. I like, seems my fears about it were misplaced.
Example: the Advent could have a capship that can capture enemy ships by directing a "culture beam" at the ship, completely enveloping their communications and (okay how unbelievably sci-fi do we want to make this?) altering time so that they perceive time at a faster rate, thus they spend several months being brainwashed in Advent culture in a matter of seconds, and come out of the "beam" completely devoted to the Advent.
Which begs the question - Why is the Ankylon's damage output so high if it's supposed to be defensive fleet support? They're being used as lone battering rams because they can both tank everything and cut through them, Ragnarov may kill them a bit faster, but it drops like a brick without a support fleet to keep it alive.
