There is a need for a map similar to Cataract, but there is no need for a new "style" (textures, background, ornaments).
How so? What aspect of the map do you feel needs to be replicated?
quoting post ... build is only going to become more popular when Fire Torchbearers auto attack is fixed. Right now it’s horribly bugged only being able to attack while stationary. If I remember correctly (remember reading it somewhere on this forum), fire torchbearer's inability to autoattack while moving was intentional.
No. They're working on a fix but there's no ETA. It's not intentional, strai

What a pointless thread this is turning out to be. Who really cares about a numbered list? It offers zero insight into what you actually like about these maps and is utterly unhelpful to anyone at GPG trying to make new maps.

Also let's face it: we, the premade community, are going to have to change our playstyles to make this work. I constantly do 2v2s with a friend of mine and I refuse to do crucible with generals. A lot of you guys refuse to stop playing 3s, 4s, 5s, you won't play on any map other than Prison, etc. etc. The premade community is sorely splintered by all these informal rules and habits. At some point we're going to have to pick a bracket and open up to a much wider range of maps. I can gu

You people are being ridiculous. When you say this will kill premades and thus the game, you're using two blatant contradictions as your premises: Premades are a such large part of the population that losing them would kill the game There aren't enough premades to fight each other Currently you have a LOT of premades who get frustrated waiting for games and just fight pugs... but what happens to the next premade that tries to fin

The real solution is to provide alternatives to Cataract or rework Cat itself. Locks are really only a major issue on that map, and that's practically the only map anyone plays. It's a map issue.

I'm sure HoN/LoL have done a lot of things better than DG, but I find being unable to zoom out and see what in the hell is going on extremely tedious and can't enjoy those two.

One more point, the critical difference between cat and levi is quite simple. On cat the crytsal and towers protect the citadel and on levi the crystal and towers protect the portals. Portals caps aren't dangerous early game which means there's no meaningfully vulnerable position on cataract at low war ranks, hence you just dogpile the flag lanes. This is also why the side portal locking dominates the late game so badly. Leviathan reverses this, making citadel pushes meaningful throug
Cataract is overrated in my opinion. But its just the result of there being a limited amount of maps. I think Zikurat is the best map.
Zikurat has some very interesting properties. There's double farming there too, there's a very important tradeoff between exp and gold mine/artifact, there's lots of side flags to take when you can't win the collision battles in the primary lanes, overall it's a very solid map. I feel it's a little

17 Replies 8,758 Views

From best to worst: Cataract Leviathan Zikurat Prison Crucible Exile I play the rest too rarely to judge them. On a map like Cataract it's just about collision. Pile on a flag, cap the flag, hold the flag until you lock or have to go home. Late game it shifts to suicide runs on base portal capping. I don't mean to talk down on the map because as you can see I do feel it's the

If TB could auto-attack as fire he would really be one of the best late game DGs. The perma 15% run and attack speed boost is fantastic, he only needs one helm for nearly infinite mana, he has good burst and he can really customize his style after level 13, but it's just not acceptable to be completely unable to autoattack a fleeing target.

Yeah, really the uproot idea is the least interesting and useful change. There's two reasons why I didn't suggest something more radically different: First of all is that my idea would require no new animation. Making the ability into something else which targets units/DGs would almost definitely require some new visual effects. Second is that QoT has enough attack spells and mana is a major issue as-is. Whatever other effect you want to see wrapped into a new version of Uproo
Quoting Shade, reply 20It's a fun casual map but an insanely bad competitive map. The whole base design needs to be redone, from uncappable portals to crystals healing in lanes to there being an artifact shop there. So you enjoy the Ninja Cap Wars? personally all those things you listed are why I like the map.
Yesterday I played a game for 30 minutes after I my team had gotten 3k health giants (we had valor flag) to the

I apologize if this has been mentioned. Replays stop recording when a player leaves the game. When the replay is played it stops at the point where the first player left regardless of how long thereafter the game continued.

Good to hear, looking forwards to it. On a related note I just finished an hour long game on exile and I am relieved we won't be playing on that abomination.

He has to step in range to get the Nova off and with the movement and cast time together Rook has a lot of time to land a boulder roll. It gets both better and worse as the game gets larger. If TB enters a fight in progress he can probably shut the whole lane down while everyone's distracted, but if he's the target of f

Given the feedback we've seen from SD I would say that pub stomping premades who climbed the ladder were perceived as abusing the system and we're seen that dealt with indirectly. I'm currently rank 8 and I doubt SD will find my desire to be rank 7 especially compelling. What I think we need to focus on is that every time someone quits out of a game to dodge human players the players left behind must then sit in line again for a new game.
