When I get a chance to play & you're on I'll give you a shout... :D
Hey guys, played a few good games last night. Let me know if anyone would be interested in playing sometime soon.
My son was playing (single player) last night & he told me that you invited me on R2P... Sorry I missed you M8!
Hey, well I just accessed the Beta through the Impulse system, had a look now and don't see where I would find out (I don't recall if I got an email).
I got 2 mails from them... 1 with my key & another titled "Ready To Play registration for Friends of preferred Stardock customers" with 5 extras... :)
Quoting Cranzy, reply 44 It is not available to all. you can goto the ready to play section on the impulse website .. you will need to register .. and if you are lucky .. you will get a key.. So no - not everybody will be able to get this - even if they wanted to ... Are you sure this applies if you go through the process as I have described through Impulse?
Did you also get 5 "extra" Beta
How about this for the hammer?
Sorry I missed you folks on Friday... I only checked my mail Saturday morning :( How did it go & how many people were there? p.s. I'll install R2P tonight, had a really bad storm last night...
I'm not sure, it may as I think R2P launches Demigod automatically. Have you tried it out yet? Oh btw, I've sent you a friend request
It doesn't... All it does is allow people to find each other & organise games :)

Welcome M8! We're trying to organise some games, time is always the issue though :(
I think there is a Max plug-in that works without involving Granny... I definitely don't have $12000 for a piece of software especially at R8 to the $ :(
Hi folks :) I know that Scottie found a converter to change .gr2 files into .max files. The problem I've got is that the converter I found doesn't seem to be working :( Any chance of posting a link to where I can find the working converter? I'm running 3D Studio MAX with service pack 3... Thanks!
how about just the stuff relating to scmap files? this is the only peice left for me to create working maps (oh and the part about distributing them). is i could just get a sneak peek at how the scmap files are map then i think i really make some progress.
You do realise that you're going to have to write a "how to guide" for the rest of is don't you?
I understand that "packet loss" & strange "deposits" on your desktop are drawbacks to PTP though...
Interesting article on south africa internet. Considering Demigod already lags easily. 1 dont try more than 2v2 2 consider hiring pigeon to deliver the packets faster, may reduce lag
Had a good laugh at this one... Actually I think snail-mail is faster...
KRayner g ive me a date & time & I'll do my best to get past the wife & kids... [e digicons]:-"[/e]
I ran the ping tests & just about the only people we'll be able to connect to (without making it a turn based game that is [e digicons];P[/e] ) are in the EU. Pings become ridiculous when I try the states & Oz... I think the biggest problem we have now is that most of the other South African players have given up on ever playing online :(
Bump! Any news on this?
...And ofcourse mods are always great, i'd love to see what people can do with the... wait i don't think we have a direct map editor like thing do we? oh well just means modding community will be smaller (correct me if there is one i've been away a while)
Nope, no official map creator, but SD seem willing to help us "convert" our models into Granny files... So we could get some user created maps :D
^ This was also my understanding. i imagine a Demigod library with the SD approved/developed mods that can be used in custom games.
I really hope we can make some new maps & items for the game. We'll have to find out what scale we must work to though, otherwise the conversion process will get complicated & tedious... We'll also need to find out what level of detail models require & how we're g
I'd love to hear from anyone at SD regarding what that translates in to... so there will be some dev kits, but can full blown maps be made from them, dgs, items, etc. It sounds like yes, but I really don't know what to expect.
Frogboy also mentioned the possibility that we could submit maps & SD could convert them to Granny for us... I asked for clarification but unfortunately, the man is busy ;)
However making the maps is the real tricky part. Creating the massive backdrops to the area's you can walk and simply the map itself.
Our BIG problem is actually that all the maps are created in Granny 3D & that costs about $10k :(
I asked what the bandwidth requirements were for playing (slightly off topic, I know), the answer I got was: 1 vs. 1 ~24 kbps 2 vs. 2 ~64 kbps 3 vs. 3 ~105 kbps 4 vs. 4 ~145 kbps 5 vs. 5 ~186 kbps {thanks to Spooky}
Hey Scottie! Go read this: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/360013/page/1/#replies Especially the last part... we have hope! [e digicons][/e] Made a model of a teleporter, used the portal as a base (if you can't tell)
Frogboy: I'd kiss you but my wife would object! Stardock itself can start to create maps and demigods to release as well as let players create their own demigods if they want and in a pinch we can take care of the exporting for them So does this mean that if we "build" a new level in lets say 3D Max, we could post it off to you & you'd convert it to a Granny 3D file for us (assuming it's good enough, that is)?
