If you have a rook why not set up 8 towers at base, or 6 if your only lvl 7-9. If he is built well he should have boulder roll so wait for the creep wave, boulder roll them to stun, towers wack away, and then hammer slam. That should kill most of them if not all of them. Either way they shouldn't do that much dmg before you kill them off. The other 2 heroes can then run around the map. If you run into real problems send in a reg to mine up between the towers in f
Creep wave and or minions and tower rooks are basicly just rooks that didn't allocate skill points : p
While I agree in principle with this creep waves won't work. Any rook worth a grain of salt mid game uses one boulder roll to kill all creeps. If you are relying on them to soak up dmg you will quickly find yourself stuned and all creeps dead in the middle of 8 towers. Minnions don't suff

There are a couple of ways you can do this. Go early health adn armor (the cheaper the sources the better) and harrass him before lvl 7 when he can get 6 towers up. When he only has 2-4 towers and doesn't have the mana items to support building infinite towers it's very easy to harrass him. Keep in mind with a Sedna ally this is even easier. Sedna can have a minion army adding 6-9 creeps, along with herself. Throw in UB, and you can see how 10 charachters vs 4 to

Erebus with Bat Swarm, or any general with Cloak of Night can exploit a design flaw in the map's geography. honestly what do you think happens if you get Rook and Reg vs Erebus and QoT (using Cloak of Night) on this map? Pantheon's random teaming just makes this situation even less manageable.
Yeah I know what you mean, so

No offense but HOL is a really bad item on reg. Most regs I know go right to mageslayer and use Serpent for mana. Even if you don't go serpent one or two mana items and your all set. The goal with reg is to get slows, attack speed, and dmg. Lifesteal keeps you in the game, and mines give you an opportunity to retreat. HOL for it's cost and what reg would be using it for is completly useless. I think HOL nerf will affect just about every hero more then it wi

By the way 5 shots gives you 85.5% chance of slowing and again this would be without maim or mines and goes to show you how truly broken this would be if they didn't nurf ranged slow.

10 Replies 3,277 Views

The thing is 6 shots is possible, secondly the numbers don't take maim into effect which only further gets you closer to the magic 6 shots number, and if your lvl 10 with mines maxed you can slow them even further getting off even more shots. I think my 50% number and 90% number are very close to being accurate, and were not just pulled out of thin air as you so eloquently put it :). I was merely trying to stand my ground, and move the discussion from something with no merit, to o

Find which one of the two UB's is the weaker player and match the oak against him. Use snipe aim constantly accross the map on so that you are essentially doing 2v1. The reg will not be able to hold his side but can farm and harass the UB in his lane. If you can make the weak player go and heal it should give oak the ability to get the flags on his side. As the game goes on things change as mines come into play. Now Reg can mine up a flag and start to push back t

That doesn't Prove anything, since there isn't any actual data there. If you can survive to the late game (over lv 15 she starts rapidly loosing effectiveness compared to most demigods) and havent fell to far behind you can definately turn it around. Be aware though

That's just too far into hyperbole, and I've PLAYED a slow based reg enough to know it isn't true even with substantially more than just the dagger and the handguards.
Actually you just proved my point. You have built a slow based reg enough to know that it's not true that they will never reach you, but if you were

Win the war by attrition, and suck her mana supply dry.
Now this I hadn't considered, it looks like this could work even better then parasitic egg, is a lot cheaper, and the mana drain is nice (then again HOL regens there mana faster) but if I beline to this item I should be able to get it before then

We'll +dmg items don't scale down with ranged only ones with a %chance. So +dmg items are always a good value for ranged charachters. The fact that a reg had the farthest range means that +dmg items and speed can prevent a melee hero from getting a single hit in. If you gave items the same chance of slowing at range as you did at melee range then melee fighters would never get close to the ranged charachters ever. Assume a reg vs UB. UB is faster but Reg slows

10 Replies 3,277 Views

It's easy, melee is stronger then ranged cause they don't benefit from range. It's the same reason that some items have a difference chance of going off depending on if you are melee or ranges (it's always lower for ranged, usually 50% as often). this is needed cause ranged fighters have a big advantage, and get off shots before the melee fighter can close in on them. This is diregarding heroes abilites, and whether or not they have summons or not.

CosMoe interesting suggestion, but unfortunately that's what I tried to do. I had serpent for favor and was laying down mines like it was going out of style, and casting mark of betrayer whenever I could, but what would usually happen is mark goes off one mine goes off, he get's hit a little, maybe some minions die, but he barely gets scratched as shield absorbs a tonne of dmg. Then he just recasts shield and uses hol and he's back to full everything and taking down your towers wi

Yeah that's what I was thinking, the only way to deal with it is to avoid it. Problem is pantheon is only 2v2 so even 2v1 you won't kill her before she escapes. If she is lvl'd up though with her ally I don't see how you can take her down. She has tonnes of staying power due to shield, tones of creeps, can shield her ally making him very hard to kill as well. The reality that she can mid game (around lvl 10) just walk into your base with all her creeps and get both you

We'll I have been playing quite well lately, and moving up in pantheon (my favorite game type) with regulous. Normally I find that reg has all the tools necessary for defeating the Forces of Darkness with 1 exception, and that is Queen of Thorns. For those of you not familiar with Pantheon, games right now are only 2v2, and if you are on the forces of light that means you can only be one of the following 4 heroes (rook, reg, sedna, oak) do you do not know who your ally is or wha

The problem with tower rook can be easily seen when playing pantheon games. I used to play tower rook then realised one thing, he's just not strong enough for 2v2 on most of the maps (crucible being the exception not the rule) and this is because of his slow speed, and the fact that you only have one teammate. Want to know how to counter a tower rook, it's easy let's take a map like Cataract for example. Tower rook in right lane, any other hero in left lane (standard for p
