When I build a military starbase and add, for instance, the Graviton Snipers (which is supposed to add +2 to mass driver attack to ships within its range of influence), are ships within its range supposed to display a higher attack value when I select them? Or does the increased attack value not display, but only becomes apparent on attack? I ask because I had ships with 2 mass driver attack, built the Graviton Snipers, and now they still s

I just (for the first time) hit the bug others have reported where the turn button goes away and doesn't come back. I saved the game, then immediately reloaded the saved game and hit a CTD. I sent the exception report to gc2bugs. However, after restarting and reloading the game, I can continue the game.
With my ATI card and monitor, I need to turn the nebula density up to see the grid lines, but that makes the range limit lines harder to see. I'd like to see the range limit lines a color with more contrast.
The description of "Neutrality Learning Centers" says "research fascilities" intead of "research facilities"
I've been playing on smaller maps with only a couple of opponents, but I did try one game with a Medium map and 6 opponents. The overall difficulty level was set to Normal, and I think the Altarian's intelligence was normal, where some of the others were sub-normal. After about an hour of play, the Drengin, Korx, Torians, and Yor had all surrendered to the Altarians, they had 4 times my population, were doing twice the research, and had 3 times the m
Is it an intended feature to betray locations of all races from turnn one by swiching on influence on the mini map? If so I will learn to accept it otherwise it seems to take a bit away from the fun doesnt it? Shhhhhh! Don't tell them about it! I need all the help I can get! <img src="smiles/Wink
Yes, Moser, I'd already reported that. I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing it.
I finally met the Dark Yor. On the Foreign Policy screen they're labelled both Dark Yor and Kwilasians. I sent a screen shot to gc2bugs.
Wait, isn't the planet supposed to become tidelocked with the sun? Mercury is tidelocked with the sun.
To keep the population happy (above 50%) on my home planets I've had to build 3 zero gravity stadiums and the political capitol. Morale resources help some, but they (and all the other resources and econ starbases) have been nerfed compared to earlier betas.
Have you tried fiddling with the Nebula background density?
I just got a CTD after hitting control-N to get a new map. Sent the SmartException report to gc2bugs.
On the subject of bonuses, are _all_ bonuses displayed in the planetary details screen? As in racial, technology, starbase, improvement, etc? Might want to break those bonuses up into categories if they are, and are lumped into one figure. As was the case in Beta4C, in 4D the planet details screen doe
End game summaries still have some bad numbers. On the Technology summary, all civs have 0 "Techs Discovered". I suspect that the "Most Time Intensive Tech" is the tech that took the most time to research since the last game load, not since the start of the game. The Military summary shows 0 ships enemy ships destroyed and 0 personal ships destroyed for all civs. The Society summary page shows a 0 score for all civs, even though the overall summary
Not a bug. Starting with 4D, it is supposed to work this way. You get some headstart on construction also, compared to building on a blank tile. Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed that it worked the same way on my own colonies. However, the build times still seem to be off. For instance, if I want to replace a research
Here's a possible clarification to the post I made earlier about trade routes not disappearing when a planet is invaded. The trade route that did not disappear was an Iconian route from an Iconain planet to a Yor planet. When I invaded the Yor planet the trade route stayed active as I reported earlier. I do have a saved game in case someone needs it to debug this. When I invaded the last Yor planet, there was a Yor trade route f
I think someone already pointed out that researching the "Subspace Rebounder" does not make any new defensive module available. I just found it's the same story with the Arnorian Armor. If it's supposed to be another armor module that you can add to your ships, it's not there.
I'm at war with the Iconians and Yor. After invading a Yor planet successfully, I find that there's still a trade route active between that planet and an Iconian planet. By "still active" I mean that the line on the map showing the trade route is still there, and mini-freighters are still moving on it. The fact that I took over the planet should have terminated the route.
I, for one, would find it helpful if the research screen would show what starbase modules are made available by a tech, in addition to the improvements and future techs.
The tech "Starbase Fortification Mark III" is labelled "Starsbase" - note the extra "s".
Having the nebula density set to max allows me to see the grids very clearly, but makes some ships harder to see. I'm sure if I try some settings in between I can strike a happy medium.
On a planet I have successfully invaded, if I select a tile with an existing project on it, the "Available Projects" list shows all available projects, not just the upgrades for the project I've selected. For example, I've selected an Entertainment Center, and it appears that I can "upgrade" it to Diplomatic Translators.
It seems like the Find button is not finding some of my fleets that still have move points left. Has anyone else observed that?
Here's a really odd problem with fleet movement. I had a fleet 3 moves away from Drengi, and I clicked on the planet to attack it with that fleet. I had not noticed that there was a minifreighter between my fleet and the planet. The fleet stopped next to the minifreighter (at that point it had 4 move points left) the game appeared to freeze momentarily, then the focus shifted to the next fleet with movepoints. I went back to the fleet I
The "Pirates!" I ran into were escapees from the Galactic Prison. Was that the event that introduced them into your game?
