BoogieMac, I cranked the "background nebula density" all the way up to make the backgound brighter, but it didn't do anything until I saved and reloaded the game. Is it supposed to work like that? Thanks.

With regard to the fleet movement oddity I reported a couple of posts back, it doesn't always happen. I think it only happens if one or more of the ships in the fleet gains a level after the attack.
This might be similar to something that ProudCanadian posted earlier - one of the Drengin worlds culture flipped to me, and it did not have a colony tile. I also invaded the Carinoids, and found that their planet had 2 colony tiles as well as 2 starports.
I have a fleet with 5 movement points. I move it and attack an enemy ship. As that happens I can see the movement points getting decremented. However, after the attack, the fleet's movement points are reset to 5. I can continue to move and attack time afer time, each attack resetting the movement points to the original 5.
I've researched Stinger IV (thankfully no longer Singer IV), but no Stinger IV shows up in my shipyard.
Extreme Stadium does not automatically upgrade to Zero-G Sports Arena.
As Alt-Tab leaves GC2 just fine, but does not re-enter it for me, taking screenshots is a pain-ridden process. Try using gcconfig to play in a window instead of fullscreen.
A UPC event came up where after the vote the screen showed how the Yor and Drengins had voted, but not the Drath, Iconians, or Korx. I thought the Beta4D Notes thread had said this problem was fixed. I'll send a screenshot to gc2bugs.
The "Boilshire Farms - Flesh Nectar" event popped up, and it exhibits 2 of the problems I've already reported - the neutral choice says I'll lose 50 million people, where I only have 25 million, and the text of the evil choice is cut off so the bonus/penatly isn't readable.
The "Precursor defenses" event popped up but the text for the neutral and evil responses is cut off so that I can't see the bonus/penalty. I'll send a screenshot to gc2bugs.
In the "Stats and Graphs" tab of the Civ Manager, if I click on the "Population" bar chart to get the summary over on the right, all alien civs show as 0 population. I'll send a screen shot to gc2bugs.
The random event about discovering a moon with a web of tunnels filled with precious minerals popped up. The evil choice said (-50 Million people, +203 bc). According to the Civilization Manager, my entire population is only 16 million, so taking the evil choice would wipe me out!
Starport window has a "String Not Found" error in the lower left "Population". I sent a screen shot to gc2bugs.
On the Civilization Management screen, on the Victory tab, the explanation for Conquest Victory has "achieve" misspelled as "acheive".
Since beta 4d is out, this will be my last report on 4c (I hope). The UPC voted to allow 4 more trade routes for each race. Two turns later my freighter reached Drengi, and I was advised that I had exceeded my maximum allowed trade routes - since I only had 7 trade routes at the time, and the UPC vote should have given me 10 or 11 (depending on the max limit), it appears that the UPC vote was ignored in deciding whether my new trade route s
Increases in speed and range are worth far more on the larger map sizes. Some of the alien races start with miniturization bonuses - that might explain the way they can pack more on a ship, but I haven't tried to analyze it in detail.
I hit a CTD while trying to submit my latest game to the metaverse. Sent the SmartException report and the endgamesave to gc2bugs. I was able to reload the game, try it again, and reproduce the crash.
BTW How to use quoting? I pressed 'quote' button and in the message window I got quote - /quote string without anything between and when I submited text I got a thick line (thin rectangle?) above my text and that was it. Quoting used to work. Now I see the same thing you do. I quoted you by selectin
Sorry if this has been reported before ... When the Senate votes to approve a change to the Federation form of government, the text that comes up says that they have approved the "Imperial" form.
I've always felt that everyone that had researched "Interstellar Repulic" should be in the UPC, and if they hadn't, or the quit the UP, they shouldn't be. What you're seeing is consistant with the way GC1 ran the UPC, but I dont' think it's the best way to do it. I'm not sure if you're stating an opin
Playing as the Yor, in Jan 2226 the first UPC vote came up. At that point I had not encountered any other races, so I was the only one voting. Is the UPC supposed to assemble if you're the only vote?
I reported a similar problem where a planet that had flipped to me was simultaneously building both a starport and a ship. The ship was almost complete even though the starport wasn't finished yet.
I want to upgrade to a manufacturing center. When I select the tile and select manufacturing center, the information at the bottom center of the planet window tells me that it will be 3 weeks to build. After I click "build", however, it shows up in the build queue and there it says it will take 19 weeks. Then when I go to the planetary details tab of the civilization manager it says that it will take 12 weeks. Shouldn't all 3 numbers be the same?</
The Yor have built a starbase right next to one of my resource starbases, ignoring the rule about starbase placement. As I recall there was a similar bug in GC1. I have a saved game to show it, if you want it.
The Yor had colonized Mars, and the planet just culture flipped to me. When I look at the planet window I see that it's working on building a starport, but no ship is shown being built (makes sense, eh? No starport, no ship). But the Planetary Details tab of the Civilization Manager show it both building a starport AND a constructor (with 17 weeks left to completion). I have screen shots in case anyone (BoogieMac?) wants one.
