online?! Pshaw, I am an SP guy. One of the issues with the lesser Novalith idea though, is from what you want, the weapon would only be able to target things around 2-3 jumps away at most. Unfortunately, there is no constraint for that; however, it can be made to fire only on things within the local system (Entrenchment allows cross-system shots). I think that it should be a super-lethal giant cannon that kills things fairly easily. Probably have it use an ability that deals 2000-3000

I like some of the ideas stated in the OP. But the Pirate Base shouldn't have a stolen Kostura or something like that. IMO, if it had some kind of very powerful weapon, it should be like a giant cannon that can ONLY fire upon things INSIDE the GW it is in.

I learned this in the Requiem thread- The Venator Class Star Destroyer can tilt 6 degrees forward to allow it's turbolaser turrets to ALL fire forward. Alternately, it could tilt backwards at that same angle and achieve the same result. Also Volt, I SAW the Marza shoot stuff to it's side. It's not just hardpointed on the mesh, it's got damage to the sides.

I think I know why the stars 'disappear' when zooming out, and you own stuff in them. The planets are represented by colored dots in a system you've explored; so by zooming out you can still tell the extent of an empire's domains. Because of this, the planets are just covering up the stars.

well, some tips- DON'T USE BATTLEFLEET GOTHIC!!!! Not because the devs for BFG will not let you (they would if they could I'm sure), but because Games Workshop (GW), the makers of Warhammer 40000, (and by extension, Battlefleet Gothic), have restrictive rules for their IP. So, only TC mods of GW's IP are allowed. Why'd I say the above? Don't want a mod like this to get shut down. Anyways, I'd suggest the following- Star Wars Requiem, Babylon 5, Dynamic Battle System, H

Rez, the proper name for the Orky's anti-structure weapon is 'Disintegrator'. That is the name given by the Strings file. As for the Plasma Pulse Guns/Wave Cannons, it's in the manual (you have a free PDF version in the install directory of Sins, everyone does). Pulse Beams, I think that they are more likely hard radiation bursts or some kind of energy beam, instead of a particle beam weapon.

well, I've found one that I REALLY liked, called Vega Strike. Pros- it's open source (FREE!!), and it can be used in an MMO-style MP (not quite what I wanted, but I can probably make do); plus, if I so desire, I can use it to make my own open-source game Cons- semi-good graphics, and it's still under development, so it has a FEW bugs (none of which I've so far spotted).

well, yes it's different/unique, and I think it looks nice, but it was just a little odd to me. Guess I just prefer the idea of raining death from above with projectiles, which are more reliable than beam weapons. Beams can have bloom issues, and lose power; projectiles can be intercepted, but if you launch them fast enough, not likely.

N3rull, I've seen Independence Day. It's one of my favorite movies. But it just seems odd that the Vasari would get GI-ANT BEEMS OV DHUUM to kill planets, when the TEC get Nukes and, for all intents&purposes, the Advent have giant linear-acceleration weapons.
