Thank you both. Rosco_P, I downloaded from Impulse Anywhere. Will I be able to install these files after an OS upgrade? Thanks in advance.
Yes. The files from Impulse anywhere are OS agnostic, they can be used on any OS that the games are compatible with. (i.e. No Windows 2000!)

Basically, take Stardock Central, modify the GUI a bit, upgrade the behind-the-scenes, and add useful features, and you've got Impulse. And what is intrusive? It's designed to be as unintrusive as possible. It's only required to download, install, and update o
When you archive an installation, keep in mind that it can only be reinstalled to the same OS it was originally installed to. If you want to be able to reinstall the game in the event of an OS upgrade, you can use the 'Download and Archive' feature, though that is only available if the game is not yet installed. Your other option is to use Impulse Anywhere . You can download installation files, which can then be backed up to di

If you're using Vista/7, you may need to run the game as Administrator the first time in order for the game to accept the serial number. Once it's accepted, you should then be able to run the game normally.

You actually posted before we did, so it's not your fault.
In all fairness, he posted this before we posted the notice.

You do have options, though. You can archive a current installation through Impulse, though you can only reinstall to the same OS that it was originally installed to. You can use Impulse (Stardock's digital distribution software) to download your game. Impulse will give you the ability to resume downloads, as well as notify you when updates are available, and prompt to update. It will also automatically activate any of our products you install. You may download Impulse here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe . Once you've logged in with your Imp
We use MD5 error checking to make sure the files you download don't get corrupted somewhere along the way. The way MD5 works (and this is an over simplication, I'll grant you, but it works for our purposes), is similar to taking a sentence, assigning number values to each letter (a=1, b=2, etc), and adding up the corresponding numbers to get a sum. That's your "MD5" (though the real MD5 creates a much more unique signature than that). Then tell someone that sentence, and hav
You all have the right of it. Initially, for pre-orders and whatnot, Trinity was a bundle, where you would get seperate registrations and keys for the base game, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy. When the boxed version was coming about, Trinity became its own thing, with only one key. The content is exactly the same, the files themselves, with some very minor exceptions (launcher, etc), are the same, and for things like multiplayer, they're 100% compatible. With Trinity,
We're still getting the German and French translations ready. They should be available soon, hopefully within the next week or so.

This happens a lot with PayPal, and if the game got registered to the wrong address, then you can merge your accounts to
There is no such product as Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity "Gold". Not sure what they're selling, exactly. "All that glitters..."

If you buy the retail version of Trinity, it will come on one disc. There's only one serial number, but it gets you the base game, and both expansions. Initially (mainly for pre-ordering and beta access), there was a Trinity 'bundle', which gave you all three as separate registrations with separate serial numbers. Now when you buy Trinity, it's one registration with one serial number. It will show up as a single game, 'Trinity', in Impulse, but the content is exactly t
