I am of the mind KFC that all this denial you espouse about Mary and Stephen being sinless, is simply for the reason that you feel that you aren't sinless yourself. If you aren't sinless no one else can be either, an egoist point of view to say the least. You take the words that "man is born in sin" to mean that he will always sin, that he has no choice in the matter, he can never become "sinless" and he can never choose to be sinless. What happened to all that "free wi

"What are you talking about? You continually make up accusations and untrue statements that you are unwilling to back up. Did you know that Satan is the father of lies and is called the accuser? Pretty easy to do I guess. I'm still waiting for you to back up your claim that there are some that are sinless in scripture which you are unwilling to do. You say what you cannot or will not back up just like you did in your last posting." What am I t

You pick and choose KFC, as to what is relevant to today and what is not when it comes to scripture. You pick and choose when it comes to following the word of Jesus. Some of his word are for you and some are strictly for others as far as you are concerned. You choose to do what ever is easiest and most convenient for you. Either you will pick up your cross and follow him, or you are not worthy of him. His words are crystal clear, and yes, they do pertain to you

"ok, so I've got it. You don't have anything but YOUR experiences to back it up. Nuff said! Good luck with that." You know better than that, but nice try. The point is there is no scripture that states that either Mary or Stephen were sinners, and all sorts of evidence that points to the fact that both were "self-less".

Yes, they are my words KFC, backed up by my hard earned experiences, but please prove me wrong.............take up your cross and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. When you have let me know about your experiences. If you find that I am wrong, I will admit to it. If you can't do this little thing, don't expect me to ever say otherwise. In the meantime however why don't you prove to me that people are people and haven't changed over the thousand plus years since the de

Everyone is born with the potential to sin but not everyone uses that potential. Do try to keep in mind that what is written in the bible are truths that were spoken for that time period and that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus changed everything for mankind. What was true during the time frame of the bible and before Jesus is not necessarily true now. Jesus lived and died to allow mankind not to be born with "original sin". Original s

"There isn't one scholar of ancient literature out there who is going to say the Greek wasn't the original language of the NT. " You wouldn't want to bet on it would you? You couldn't find a scholar that will tell you that without a doubt the Greek is the original. Unlike yourself, scholars are quite aware that because another older one hasn't been found yet, that there is no possibility that one doesn't not exist. "To say it's the oldest know

"that's why you go back to the original Greek. The translations come from the original Greek. In the case I presented above, the RCC used the Latin which was in error. I've since done some more research and everything goes back to Mary being highly favored not "full of Grace." That puts a big dent in the Mary is sinless theory especially since in their own version they have Stephen as "full of Grace" which is correct." Back to more words?

I have a question, which one of you will change her mind about Mary first? I'm betting that neither of you do. "Therefore, the Roman Catholic Church has manufactured far too much doctrine concerning Mary out of the erroneous translation of the Latin Vulgate Bible and that the RCC needs to recant its false teaching concerning Mary." Do you think that your getting Lulapilgrim to change her mind is going to by chance make the RCC change theirs? I also ask the sa

Thanks for the lesson Lulapilgrim. However I would have to say that "church" is not the correct translation, "teachings" is probably far more accurate. The word "church" would not have been used because quite frankly no such thing or word existed at the time of Jesus. Jesus would have used the word temple to designate a place of worship instead of church, if indeed he was speaking of a place of worship, after all he was jewish. Yes I've read some of Acts, but I

"Need I remind you that it was through the Sacred Apostolic Tradition of the CC that identified which writings were inspried of GOd and which ones weren't? Yes, since the Bible did not nor could not determine its own list of books, there was another authority with a ruling voice that was protected from error, that is, infallible with the guidance of the Holy Ghost when making this decision. What is this entity which is error free in determining and teaching God's revealed tr

"Well only a sinful person needs a savior. A Savior is one who saves you from something." Yes, a savior saves one from something, but it's not sin. Only we can save ourselves from sin, as only we can make ourselves turn away from sin, it's that "free will" thing. A savior saves one from having to die "the death", by showing them how it can be overcome. That is exactly what Jesus did. He gave us the necessary steps that we needed t

Matthew chapter 10 verse 42 ""And whoever gives to one of these little ones but a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward." Yes I know what it means, do you? Jesus was speaking about his disciples and the apostles in this passage. Yes, he called them "little ones" but he did also call them children, because they had become child like as he had taught them to be. However the passage p

Thanks, I will read it and let you know later what I think. "No, Mary was not sinless. I'm glad you admitted it's not in scripture. Since only the RCC believes this, I have to ask...are you or have you been influenced by the RCC?" By the way KFC and Lulapilgrim, have either of you tried to quiet your mind yet? Or have you decided not to try it because you are afraid that you will not be sucessful, or are you just not interested in proving it to yourself that it can or can not be done? If not ,why not?

Sure, I'll be more than glad to answer your question KFC when you answer mine. You may have thought it was suitable but it isn't. You gave me an example concerning other scripture, it wasn't "other" scripture I was asking about. No where in the piece that I asked you about is there any kind of alluding that Jesus was speaking about a "spiritual child". One does not hold up a physical child as an example to others when one is speaking of a "spiritual one". &nb

"If Mary was sinless, as you say, why did she need a Savior?" Who said that Mary needed a savior? Where did you find it written that she did? "Christ is not referring here to physical but to spiritual children. The phrase "these little ones who believe in Me" makes clear that He has in mind the children He had just spoken of in the phrase "one such child" (v5) which refers to the children mentioned in v 3-4. Christ is referring to spiritual children? So tell me why call a little child to his side and make an example of a "physical child" to his apostles when he is speaking

"says who? You? The bible is pretty clear. We are all sinners, born that way." No not me, the bible, or have you forgotten the virgin Mary? So I'd have to say that one of you is wrong. We have the potential to sin, since eventually we all become to have a sense of self. Original sin is the indulgence of that sense of self when we heed to our own selfish desires. Just as Adam heeded to his selfish desires to be as a God, and even as y
