@Lucky Jack: I wouldn't be so pissed if I played a beta, but I bought a game labeled 'finished'. In a beta the kind of inconviences I encounter in 1.0 are something to be expected, not so much in a release game. To be more precise: I started playing with 1.0. I think the loading problem might be tied to the unit duplication error you encounter if you hypnotize SK units like Fallen apprentices or Shadow Commanders. I did that a few times - perhaps that fu the saves so much it
No, changes nothing. But you (metaphorically speaking, not you personally) succeded in making me to ask for my very first refund from Steam. That game is definitely not past beta state.
Suddenly SK got stuck while loading a game. Or the game before. Or the savegame before that. Anygody else got a savegame problem? Steam verify told me the gamedata are okay.
If an administrator (who else) has equipped the enchanted hammers accessory, the production bonus is neither shown in the city production overview nor used in the 'turns until finished calculation' - I have two hammers, and if, without them, the building with 13.1 production requires 6 turns, +4 production from two hammers should make a difference.
When using gigantify from the failed wizards, if a unit is affected twice, it's displayed in normal size, but still gets the size bonus. UUTUU UFTFU U:Unit, F:Failed Wizard, T:Twice affected unit FWs cast giantify on themselves in the example above.
Naphaz' spectre does exactly nothing when summoned, because it can never act (not included in fight order). Although it has the 'arcane arrow' ability, which seems to imply a more active role than moveless dummy. For now it works just as a decoy ... Sorry, it does act. About three rounds after summoned, so usually after the combat's over.
Playing on insane - unit sizes (hit points) get inflated, monster levels are quite high - but attack, as far as it's not related to number characters in a unit, does not change. The level increase hurts for Fallen Enchantresses etc., that do damage dependent on level, but otherwise - it's just a numbers slugfeast. And because I also play a Wizard with hypnotize - and spellcraft items stack ... I haven't produced any own unit except for settlers (sorry, pioneers). The failed wizard
And books and potions that give XP?
Yes, thanks. It's a workable workaround.
Sorry, forgot: when the settler is part of an army, you get: Settle Outpost Equip Explore (nothing more) Why would it be part of an army? Simple reason: to not get ambushed.
I used Hypnotize extensively. Which means, the 'select unit' screen when casting Cloud Walk is quite cluttered. Could you preselect the currently active (marked) unit in this screen when the spell is cast? That would really improve usability.
Similar effect, but restarting helped in my case. Until I had too many reloads, than it crashes again.
If a pioneer is on land where it could build an outpost or city, the 'Pass' button is not visible/present. And that I couldn't find a list of keyboard commands doesn't help, either.
Btw., is it wasd that Air Elementals and hero units with the fly special ability can, in fact, not fly? The only unit I've seen where it works is the falcon.
+sight items stack.
Wasn't there an ability in the skill tree that changes that to 100%?
Endgame. I used safe-spamming, the Archon unit, rings of mastery (5), each enchanted with +Spellcraft. From memory, that should be 5*(5+10) increase in SC, so, whatever they set as 'high limit' wasn't enough. And as it was late game, it didn't matter. By that time I had an army of ogres and failed wizards, mostly kitted out. I used the precursor army of them (5 ogres and 2 failed wizards) to defeat his fire analog, without losses. Ogre resistance is nice. What
I managed to hypnotize the ice-based lieutenant, didn't realize that the missing Sorcerer King dialog "how dare you attack my lieutenant" indicated a problem, and now I cannot fight the Shadow King because of a missing key (yes, I killed the fire-based lieutenant earlier. That's why I know about the dialog). Any chance to continue the campaign - console, scripts, whatever? Or do I just have to put the 40h into the trashbin?
Hi, I just started my very first GIII game, and I'm not sure if it's a bug, a configuration or works as designed: I can move the galaxy map only by clicking and moving the mouse, not by moving the mouse 'beyond' the screens edge. Is that an intended effect?
