I learned Windows 98 first and at a young age, so a lot of Windows conventions seem natural and second nature. I've experimented with linux and Mac previously but a lot of the changes seem arbitrary and counterintuitive; needlessly creating friction. However I am aware that Unix conventions were established first and microsoft created these barriers, but given the market share dominance of Windows I feel the onus is on the competition to ease this friction.

At launch, I bought a gift for a friend using the new GameStop client and the system accidentally transferred my ENTIRE account to his. Fortunately his account was new so it was easy to get things sorted out. Since then things have improved a lot but I expected a far more, shall we say "solid", client to be developed before GS tossed out the old one.

I use steam ONLY because I have to in any way shape or form OR because I consider myself to be renting [but only if the game is cheap](I usually buy a boxed version if available and a good game). I was burned by Steam before (pun intended) because my (old) school firewall-blocked steam's ports and you can't use a proxy and finally because offline mode didn't work (using port 80 steam identified a mandatory update). Also auto-updating isn't always in the be

i'd like to see a rebuild button in the citadel after the building health add-on. it would be priced based on the buildings that had been destroyed and would rebuild them. it also wouldn't hurt to have it be part of a new tree that would add more towers/forts/walls to ur base. i'd also like new skill trees and a higher level cap if they make an X-pack. (regulus needs a short range multishot)
