You do realize that you can just take the next bigger map?
I'm not bothered much since my favorite map size is Insane. But if someone preferred to play on Gigantic, Immense or Excessive they are out of luck. The difference between Excessive and Insane is staggering. It was the release of the hotpatch for 1.9.
Has anything been done to the other map sizes that were drastically reduced in 1.9?
No. As I stated elsewhere this change will not solve people's grievances since Insane was the least affected map size.
I found something while looking for a completely different thing. In GalCiv3MapDefs 0.40 8 12 4 0.66</MercenaryBaseBlockingPlacementProx
Thanks for the continued updates. Looking forward to Crusade, perhaps a sneak in the Founder's Vault would be a nice Christmas gift.
This is true, I did make them a bit smaller but I made the number of stars and planets available much much higher. In response, we are going to restore the absolute largest sized galaxy. I just personally don't like the pacing and didn't think others would care if I made the absolute size smaller if I was giving them more planets
Read the new dev diary by Brad.
I haven't found where the spawn rate for the bazzar is kept. But wouldn't another solution be to edit the costs of the mercenaries in EXP1_MercenaryDefs to some extremely high amounts like 90000 credits?
Sounds good, but... Shouldn't this kind of "low hanging fruit" type of optimization have been done during development, like ages ago? I know Frogboy is the man and all but I'd hope they had a few people working on the game that had some clue about writing code and writing reasonably efficient code!
Perhaps you would like to read what Brad has stated, he didn't optimize the code. [q
On a different note, I don't see anything on this patch related to galaxy sizes? Does this mean that did not end up getting put into the update? If that's the case thank you.
Second line under balance. Reduced the size of maps while keeping the same number of objects, effectively increasing the galactic density.
1. You know I just realized it feels a bit strange being able to access the bazaar before researching Universal Translator. 2. Even if all manufacturing is set to social a shipyard will still receive 1 manufacturing point if the sponsor planet has distance decay.
A Thalan trade ship arrived at one of my colonies before I even met them. I also don't think any of their ships saw my planet. A pirate ship that followed one of my constructors attacked the starbase it created. It failed, but I don't recall seeing them do that. It was interesting.
Started a new game to see what changes the update to the opt-in added. Research speed seems better now, but I have few planets due to playing with rare planet setting. I will see how it goes.
It is working, it just isn't displaying that the improvement is finished. Exit the colony and you should the improvement as rushed.
I don't see the comedy or slapstick in the scene most of you are talking about. Maybe the dust cloud could be smaller. For all we know that Tywom is dead.
Speaking of, I'm a huge fan of RPG games but there are rarely and space RPG games where you play (and fly) as a ship captain, know any goodones?
The alien trait coloniser doesn't work. i don't get a free building when i colinised a planet.
Weird, it works for me. Reached turn 160. I feel that research is going too fast, especially considering that I have so few research buildings. I haven't met any major civilizations, only two minors. They seem more talkative, I received a number of trade offers from them. Though I
No problems starting on my end. First thought is that load times and turns are much faster even on my old machine. Also I noticed the X for notifications in no longer working.
I see there is an update for future DLC's on Steam. Why is this not being updated on the game's own forum? Instead saying we can't talk about anything? With that being said that is still several months old so is that even in line w/ current plans? http://steamcommunity.com/app/226860/discussions/1/492378806373636365/ <br
The game is still in production. However the devs have stated it will be similar to Star Control 2 so it will most likely be real-time.
One is an action/adventure game in space, the other is a TBS in space.
Actually, I'm curious if you have any insights regarding why Fred Ford and Paul Reiche were never able to make their sequel. From what I understand, they were unable to reacquire the necessary rights. Has Stardock reached out to them in any way? Because if this was a collaboration, then everything in SC Origins could tie in with both SC2 and any future sequel without the need to concoct this multiverse timeline idea.[/q
