Honestly I am just pissed at Stardock right now. I have lost a good amount of respect for them as developers. This is mostly stemming from their long silence concerning this game, the disaster that was Elemental, and them turning their backs on THEIR OWN Gamer's Bill of Rights and slapping us in the face with Elemental being completely unfinished and without the ADVERTISED multiplayer. I doubt seriously another patch is coming for quite some time and when it does I doubt it will fix i
TEC should be able to feed a new faction with their credits after they research "insurgency".
I'm following you so far. But the implementing this properly would be a bit of a challenge. I think the best option would be a new tab on the Black Market UI with the same options that we have for Pirates. They are already a named faction I believe.
The TEC would send credits to an enemy planet
No. Not going
If I play TEC my first ship is always the Akkan because it can provide a very early planet grab and later Armistice. Sova is my second capital ship, that is then fleeted into a Percheron fleet with Garda and Hoshinko support. This is a great fleet for a "jump in and sit" long range strategy which is great for multiple reasons like a great kill-death ratio of units.
"If" there was another expansion then I think I would want a playable campaign. That's it. The only department this game is lacking in, in terms of content, is Story.
There were many things that drove people away from SoaSE. 1) Lack of Campaign. Very limited background story and intensely vague story progession through use of expansion sets. And some people just love to go back and take a break from multiplayer and replay the story. 2) Entire faction damning balance that shifts dramatically with each patch. I can't recall a time when a single faction wasn't completely unplayable in a competitive online meta. Wh
In some instances it would demoralize the population in to submission. It's very akin to acutely complacent populations under oppressive tyrannical governments. Think about how corrupt and worthless the current US government is for example and the overall population of the US content to Twitter on their IPhones and ignore the truly disturbing crimes their government commits against them. And if you think I am blowing hot air then you need to seriously do some homework and perhaps watch Jessi
With that change to Flak Burst was there a significant improvement to the Kol as a unit? I really only pick Kol FOR Flak Burst anyway and it is far from Halcyon TKP in terms of strength and not even as good as Jam Weapons. I also think that the Rail Gun needs a damage boost, cooldown boost and AM cost decrease... nothing drastic at first but something to make it worthwhile, and yes I agree that Adaptive needs to be static.
I think the TEC is fine the way it is and that buffing them would mess up the balance of the game.
Sorry, but this is completely inaccurate. If you have been playing the game lately you should notice that any full TEC team or any TEC player on a large map is just so hopelessly outmatched that it is impossible for any TEC players to win.
They have the BEST ECONOMY
Which only counts in the early gam
Honestly, that how it should be. You "should" be able to beat certain tactics with skill. Unbeatable Vasari is just somewhat sickening, and kinda ruins the game since most of my friends agree that playing as Vasari is about as cheap as you can get.
Like I said the game's mechanics are very inflexible. In a real world situation you wouldn't, but what kills me about Dead Asteriods is that there is not even 10 citizens able to chill in a command center. Basically they are only used for a tactical zone.
Right, we ALL know the glaring late game weaknesses of TEC Darvin. Insurgency in it's current form is just about worthless, which is why I said buff it, if the frequency of the attacks and the strength of the rebels was increased... say by spawning a low level random TEC capital ship, it would be a very nasty ability. I also think that the Hoshinko needs to be buffed with Demolition Bots doing damage and having a longer effect, that would increase it's scaling into the
Well to answer the question, the modding community makes better content because they are "enthusiasts". When you truly love something you put heart, body, time and soul into the creation of it. The problem is that the developers of Star Trek games don't love Star Trek, and to them game development is a Job, not a Joy. When those two negative elements combine to make something uninspired you get an uninspired piece of $417
LOL I think you are suspending the element of immersion and overanalyzing specifics like the tech naming now.
It's common knowledge that TEC has a HORRIBLE late game BUT this thread is an actual proposal and request to change that. I welcome ideas and discussion and to start off, I actually have an EASY to implement way of giving the TEC faction a late game edge without being OP. There already exists the Insurgency technology. Buff it. Second the Vasari have truly powerful structures and the Advent have truly powerful tactical buildings, the TEC have mediocre (at best)
Well you would still have to invest in optimizing what is already present so that you can take advantage of the existing population and the existing infrastructure. Imagine if Iraq was suddenly a state in the United States, we would definitely have to spend billions of dollars to integrate and optimize the country into US standards. With that example I think you can definitely understand if you use your imagination.
To have a majority of occupying civilization on the planet.
DesConnor, I think you are judging the Diplomacy expansion too harshly when considering the AI's implementation of the new Diplomacy system. The Diplomacy expansion is clearly a "multiplayer" focused expansion. In that regard it is perfect in my opinion AND experience. As for the Pirates, I am really hating them in Diplomacy and just turn them off. To me that = FAIL. SOMETHING needs to be done about them for anyone to consider playing with them on. Just from my estimate
Why would you have to upgrade Civilian Infrastructure on formally neutral planets that already have a Sentient civilization, complete with large cities and established Governments on the surface?
Good question. The only ways I could explain that is that the game's mechanics are very inflexible, meaning that you just HAVE to upgrade the civilian infrastructure to avoid the underdevelopment tax. In a real worl
Martial Law varies in certain situations and depends on who is enforcing it. Imagine what was going on during Nazi occupation of Europe, specifically France who immediately surrendered to the Nazi's without putting up a fight... the Nazi's didn't particularly disassemble the government (although it was under intense scrutiny and jurisdiction of the Nazi party) and didn't really abuse the citizens of France BUT they were closely watched and harshly punished if there were any "suspicious" activ
Something the just popped up during conversation with my friends during a SoaSE LAN party. REAL Allied building in an Allies grav-well. What I mean by this is being able to assist your ally by building YOUR trade ports in their grav-well and they get a cut of the income, being able to build refineries for you allies so they get SOME increased extraction while you get a cut of the resources, being able to build tactical structures as well. That cou
XxTaLoNxX, I would think that orbital bombardment targets and destroys Government facilities, therefore creating chaos and anarchy across the planet and forcing most of the civilians into refugee camps so I doubt they would be paying taxes while they are without adequate food, water, sanitary conditions, shelter, power, and medical care. Hmm, good question. I would suppose that they would be the entire reason the planet revolted in the first place, what I see happening in my "mind's eye" is that the population of the planet reaches a "critical mass" of both unhappy "native citizens" and rebellious alien citizens. And the aliens would defect the planet to a localized hostile government and promise the other citizens full citizenship in the new "world order". So to say. I dunno just imagine what happened during the American rev
People have needs, even alien citizens. Sales tax on food, clothing, etc. And people are already paying some taxes, then they need jobs to provide themselves and their families with these basic needs, and thus that income is taxed.... that's how.
Which is what I was trying to get at. I guess by the time I see my economy surpassing everyone else as Vasari I am also so far into winning the game that the TEC economy is on the verge of crashing since I am now on his doorstep knocking it down. And if persay he makes one last attempt at a counterstrike I will just take advantage of PS/RA to stop him cold. And yes I was also trying to say that the Vasari standalone economy is far from being inferior, it's actually quite competitive depending
