You can always turn speeds on fast or if you have diplomacy on faster. I play Diplo only and consensus between most players is that we play on all settings faster by default. Pace is quite good and in bigger fleet fights ships die fast but it still can happen that u get epic fights ......

When scout comes near the mine it "reveals" them (read: make them vulnerable) and you can target them when they are revealed. PS. If you leave couple of scouts in grav well they will move to and destroy the mines by themselves. Leave couple of carriers with them and hold alt you will see a circle near scout and see when fighters go attack mines. After that you should get a feel for scout reveal range and will be able micromanage their destruction.

@ A110 perhaps you were "lucky" to play against or with gandalf or one of his aliases. He is the guy who doesn't leave until last of his and allied planets is conquered. Unless teams are well balanced games finish before clock ticks to 60 min. Even if they are well balanced games that last 2h are really rare. In about 1000 games i played so far perhaps 10 were 2h or more and one was 3h or more.....

I'm not sure if it does anything in expansion pacts but mechanic is there and it is used to great effect in some of the mods out there.

Another viable thought uncontrollable strategy would be buy when prices are low and place on the market for other players to buy when price is high.

Actually as advent I would use starfish but not to attack sb but supporting structures especially phasic hangars. Once they are down all sbs die quickly to bomber spam attack even if he has overseers to heal it up....
well as advent u also have several other scouting options of course u know . remote viewing with culture of course is a great way to scout without wasting scouts but when facing comps they like to build 3-7 culture stations so this is not your best option. my personal favorite is using a culture gun(advent superweapon) with remote veiwing and firing it on enemy worlds it will reveil the planet u hit and unless the enemy has a ton of culture u will see all the surrounding worlds a

I just came from a game and while watched reply ..... A vasari player (weakest scout) colonized desert planet with just 4 scouts and colonizer. Planet had one of each ship as militia. It went like this Jump in with 4 scouts and drag enemy ships on far side of the planet. Then Target siege with scouts and jump migrator in and because ships are on the other side they will bump into planet while trying to get to migrator. In the mean time scouts are attacking siege

I played games today and 6 of them desynced right at start. Games ranged from 3v3 to 5v5. I do have Sync error logs from all 6 games that i had problems with and i can send them to devs if they want them.

Yes to some degree it is counter to scouting but if opponent is passive you go and attack him..... and they do save to a degree when they feel they can buy relevant research and ships they attack and with pros that is very soon. lol

So, is this normal? I hear people say advent is good defensively; are they forced to go pure defense at a certain point?
Yes, being tight on money is very normal. In fact, it means you're doing things right. Spending every penny practically the second it comes in is actually a sign of high efficiency. To be able to beat vicious ai on point blank at least for me depends on what ai will be building. If he goes for carriers and repair platforms from start i have big problems and so far have never beaten him this way. If he goes for lrms i have better luck but ifhe goes with civic labs i have no problems at all....

The trick is to know when you stop rushing trade and develop economy and switch to either build fleet and continue expanding at slower pace or go pure military. I think this point defines skilled player and of course be wise enough to retreat at right moment and fight another day

If you hint that you are going to build sb in enemy grav well you can force enemy to come to you where your subverters and fact that you can lay mines in enemy grav well make it prety sure that either his defending fleet will die or your orky will survive. My ups 2 cents.... My team was wining and so was I.... I had 46 kodiaks and damaged sova lvl6 and was chasing his fleet which was decimated and sure to die... I don't need to say that i jumped in where tec suicide sb was (at that time didn't know value of scouting) of course he RB it but what was worse was that his decimated fleet cleared the blast and i lost all ships I had including damaged sova. He went straight on counter and since I had factories on planet 1 jump away he killed t

Actually in my experience if ai is vasari it is easiest to beat him. If hes advent he carrier and disc spams too soon too heavy and if hes TEC he goes lrms which at start are better as assailants. I did beat him as well but it was 1 every 3 games I would say. Strategy i take is usually rush with one cap and some assailants to kill his constructors and frig fact on hw and deploy sb. I send some scouts to keep killing costructors on his roid. I don't ever let him to coloni

There are some very good replays of pro players how to develop economy. Those are most in bigger matches 3v3 - 5v5 but if you watch them I'm sure you will get some idea how it is done properly. Of course you will have to be slower since you are building fleet as well but one advice especially against ai is to go full economy (don't purchase any additional fleet supply and sell your cap ship factory as soon as you build that first free cap) and spamm trade ports on all planets ( leave

All textures were minimized and they are in dds format.... About 3 month ago they started adding solutions from Major Stres TSOM. And it still hits 2 gig limit very quickly....
I mean, didn’t 7DS start out as a collection of various mini-mods? Now it’s grown into such an unmanageable entanglement of conflicting files that they’re discussing breaking it back down into various mini mods?
Yes it started as collection of mini mo

As I understand and as in which direction debate about dynamic mod is going you have all files that you need in separate directory somewhere on HD and exe makes new mod with build up manifest from main game and each race. Same is done with rest of the files that need to be changed. All files needed are then copied or moved to mod folder where you have new (just build) mod and game starts with that mod that was build just moments ago. Mystic is right that dev exe spits a lot of e

Don't have time to elaborate but for vasari 2 skirantra + assailant spam is quite good. For tec marza or carrier with embargo + LRM s is viable. Advent has strong optin with 2 Carrier caps +disciples and scouts. For advent though its harder to pull off and you need more micro. Just play some of the games and go watch reply of them and check what opponent is doing....
