man, this is getting to be a head scratcher...disable adsubtract and see if that's it while I ponder some more

OK ...here we go.... open ZonePro and go to 'programs control' hit tab 'programs". Scroll down to Internet Explorer, highlight and click on options in lower right corner. Hit tab "security' and uncheck 'enable privacy settings'
I just thinking maybe we're making this harder then it is. The newest version is 0.99.138.... I wonder if there is a back door to download and apply since you can't get into SDC
ummmmmm.now I feel like I'm on a mission!!!! I had all kinds of problems at the same time so as you can tell all these are just guesses. One of the problems I had was when I used ObjectBar. If you're using it, unload it and try SDC.
If you don't have a Firewall that tells you what ports you have open..I think it's port 5000...you can get a little app. https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 that will tell you if it's enabled. If it is open then that's not the problem. If it isn't download UnPnP proggie and enable.
ooook.........let's try this: is your Win32 Universal PnP disabled?
ummm....I seem to remember that when I got that it was a problem with the privacy settings in Zonepro Firewall.
thru Start Menu unload each app. and then disable apps. from loading on start-up
4-speed Hurst grinder with a couple of Mickey Thompson donuts on the rear
the GTO 389 tri-power wasn't too shabby either.......
lPlural- isn't that how you get rid of hic-ups?????????
I've been playing with CM and SDC and I transfered all my themes and such to the Stardock folder, but I haven't deleted any other files until the total transfer to SDC and they do away with CM. Some of the programs in the objectdesktop file are not in the stardock file. I'm sure it will all work out in end,but what a pain <img src=
Found it..there is a thread 'Boot Program' that should answer your question.
Think that is right link to change the XP Splash, but I think it's shareware...there is a sys. file that can be altered to do the same thing, but I can't remember what it is...dahh
ya..man.take care
One further thought about FX...I disabled any proggies that it seemed to effect. You can do that in 'App. exclusions"
I just took it down to where I used it for shadows and fade effects and disabled everything else. I didn't have any problems with DX (and I too really like it) until the last update of WB and then it went wacko.... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!
Have heart..I played with FX and it works fine, however DesktopX seems to be the culprit. Desktop icons go nuts for some reason. I'll play with that for a while and see if I can really screw up my machine. Think how boring this would be if everything worked <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 A
we do seem to be glutens for punishment
If we hadn't installed all the betas I'm sure we wouldn't be having these problems, but on the other side of the coin, if we hadn't I don't think they'd ever weed out all the bugs...damned if do, damned if you don't.
I try to keep everything in perspective...I think for the most part Stardock software is pretty amazing. I can remember, not so long ago, when Win95,98 and Me bluescreened me every 10 minutes. I think when the alphas and betas are out of the way all will be well. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 A
I have the same options and FX did worked. I'm going to unload Fx completely and see if that's where the problem is ....and yes, things seemed to be simpler not so long ago
I think the full install (096?) was a reboot, but I do agree that some of the updates are doing some wacky things...now I'm getting rips when I close a window. I think maybe the the WB update freaked out FX. Who knows.. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
when SDC asks if you want to restart it only means SDC app., not your computer. I had problems with upgrade, failed, could not open file, etc. If I refresh apps.data under tools it installs and seems to work fine.... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser
WC has an excellant FAQ site...maybe they don't know what FAQ stands for
