Making IP is probably a loss. Maybe it's not the initial investment that is frightening. It's the fact that Win 10 breaks compatibility roughly twice a year. Making customization software for Win 10 will require more maintenance than earlier versions of Windows. And result in more support hours. I did what you said. Played with Start 10. I still think dropping support for textures on MS themes is a loss. As for taking the plunge, that's not really me. I am a control freak and this is part of the reason I don't like Win 10. I am not in control, Microsoft is. Win 10 is not a bad user experience and I am happy for those who enjoy it. I switched from Firefox to Pale Moon a year ago. Never looked back. Pale Moon doesn't include bloatware (Pocket, Hello) and in my experience is faster and more customizable. It's like Firefox when Firefox was good. Have a look at Pale Moon extensions page. Remember that some extensions are included in Pale Moon by default. MS theme with textures? in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

I am using Windows 7 and WB 7. I have put textures on Windows 7 default theme. In Windows 8/10 it is no longer possible to put textures on default MS theme. Is this for technical or legal reason? If it's a technical reason, then maybe this can be solved? If MS says no then not much can be done. Windows 8

Not only skinning died in the last 7-8 years. "Desktop" died. Just look what happened to Windows. Today skinning is about changing launcher on your Android device and maybe icons too. Younger people don't care about desktop or so it seems. Even Linux skinning died during this period.
