I say this every time it comes up, but I think it is a point that is not be readily apparent.. It's not just the number of planets that can be colonized that matters, but also the number of opponents. Simply put, Gigantic and Immense maps are unbalanced with only six factions, IMO. This symptom simply a reflection of the greater problem. But on those larger maps, if there were, say, 14 to 16 total factions (10 majors and 4 to 6 minors), I think a lo

This is just one example likely not the best but build, get points, destroy, repeat .. would let you blow through the entire ideology system in a very limited number of turns. Many less than through colonization or waiting for random events. If there is a good way to do it, I
To show that there are different playstyles, I always take three free constructors early on and wait till around turn 80 to 130 before playing the "Can't Touch This" card. Mostly because being declared on super early is hella rare, near as I can tell, while getting three constructors in my home system can be a great boost when I'm building other things. The other reason I like taking the three free constructors early is because that gets me closer to

The game will auto update whenever there is a new public beta available, FWIW.
How is this going to be any different from GC II, which, as I understand it, was lauded for a fairly good AI?

I would suggest creating a ticket with Stardock so they know about the problem and can see if it is something unique to your configuration or not. How to create a ticket, as well as how to create the diagonstic logs that will help SD see what is going on, is at the bottom of the link that Bamdorf provided. It's also possible that your download got corrupted at some point while installing. Bamdorf has also provided a handy list of things to try out if things are getting

This is going to sound perhaps a bit silly, but perhaps could we have a moment of silence during the livestream for the passing of Leonard Nimoy (sorry to break it to people who hadn't heard yet)?
