You also might want to wait till PCI Exprees becomes the new standard and replaces AGP8X. Like DesignCaddy said, there is also the 64bit processors.

I was just trying to help out some. I wouldn't buy a Dell, when you could build one cheaper, upgradeable and better for less. Especially in that price range. And Dell support is like any other support if you know what I mean Better off going to a (this) forum.
#6 by Citizen Hy♠Rolr - 1/13/2004 12:23:05 AM Somebody's fishing for bragging rights He can brag all he wants, but he still with 5 grand bought a Dell machine
I say you should build one. You definitely can build a better one cheaper plus upgradeable. If I had that money at hand, I certaintly wouldn't buy a Dell.
Hey thanks fellas. I never thought about using WinFX but it works like a charm.
#94 by Kona0197 - 1/11/2004 10:15:54 PM I hope the Eagles lose just so I can have some bragging rights around here. The only good thing that came out of Philly was Cheese Steaks. Not NFL teams. Man you love to break balls. Just salty about your Chiefs? Eagles will beat Carolina, no doubt. New England is my second favorite team...can't
Awwwww Kona, poor Chiefs huh? EAGLES!!
Is there a way to change the transparency a Rainlendar skin? Maybe through Windows or some 3rd party software? I also posted this at their site.
Yeah I wouldn't spend over $200 right now, with the next gen. cards and PCI express (replacing AGP 8X) in the near future. Plus with the 9600XT I got (will get) Half Life 2 for free.
#38 by IPlural - 1/10/2004 1:42:00 AM Kona don't worry about me... I don't take it personal in the leat, preferences in Hardware and such is a silly thing to be worked up about...ATI verse nVidia is about the same thing as MAC verse PC in the end... I hear ya--I'm no ATI fanboy. Up until now, everything has been Nvidia, but now I got a 9
What are you talkin about? Both cards are basically the same price. And show me the performance difference in DX9 benchmarks. They're basically neck and neck in the link you showed me.
I seen that before--I gotta try and find the link. I believe it was on Tech tv. Yup, supposedly one of a kind [Message Edited]
Whats it contain? I really couldn't care about a $3000 card, cause none of use it nor was that what you commented on
22 by IPlural - 1/10/2004 1:02:40 AM Well considering and what I was commenting upon was the higher end cards, not the little 9800 or the little 5950 but the workstation cards. ATI does not come close to nVidia *OR* Matrox in that class... deesh... <TD
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Benchmarks (Nvidia is working with them) *NOT DX9 render (should of shown a bigger difference)* <img src="ht
#8 by IPlural - 1/10/2004 12:19:20 AM ATI 9800 doesn't come close to the FX 5950 Ultra #14 by IPlural - 1/10/2004 12:27:50 AM it goes abck and forth on different games and such, one tops the other, but when it all boils
The 6th option 'Zero' shouldn't be there. You're talking about selling a premium package and of course the majority would choose 'nothing'. Why pay, when you can get it for free? See what I'm sayin?
Chi Chi, yes it is--if you have the normal Road Runner package I don't think you forgot anything the first time
And get DrTCP here: http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp
Nomad, you use DrTCP and/or TCP Optimizer? Cause thats what I use. Go here http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and here http://www.dslreports.com/tools for the tweak and other tests.
If you didn't know, all Comcast users will be upgraded to 3.3mbps (for no additional charge). This should be completed soon; go here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/comcast to see if (or when)you have been upgraded--powercycle your modem. My speed--3.3mbps down/256kbps up
Werewolf you do not have a problem. #14 by Sir Tech Cat - 1/3/2004 5:06:10 PM Actually they charge money to repair your XBOX even if it is still under "warrenty". I hear it takes months before you get your XBOX back. 99% of all XBOXs are malfunctioning with all those disc read errors. Well, before they were doing it for free, but
Well I believe all three drives would read Memorex CD-RWs and one drive would read other CD-RW brands and some CD-Rs. There is a way to tell what brand drive by a number (before you buy) and also the design of the drive itself. I think one of the newer drives reads both CD-R and CD-RWs--there was a big discussion on it and so many people say so many different things. [Message Edited]
Get the Xbox Music Mixer thing and you can transfer MP3s from your pc to your Xbox--requires XP. http://www.xbox.com/en-us/musicmixer/ [Message Edited]
If anything, it will read cd-rw. There are three types of drives: Thompson, Samsung and something else--I believe one of those reads all cd-rws (and I think some cd-rs) while another only reads some...It's funny like that. Also, if you update your Xbox for Xbox Live (some games can do that) it will prevent you from reading cd-rws all together--thats what happened to me. The ability to read them depended on the brand.
