Yeah, for some reason people like to make their character (who is supposed to be a representation of one's self) a female, which I think is either because 1. everybody else is doing it, 2. because they find the character attractive, or 3. because they really wish that they were the opposite gender... All depends on the network. I had BT Broadband, but the cable that linked my house to the network went really slowly for whatever reason. Therefore, I was seeing 30 kb/s at best. We switched to Virgin Media, and, after the chaos that always comes from getting stuff from a big company, we have a decent internet, with more normal speeds. So yeah, it all depends.
