The regiment wouldn't be affected, just our cadet force really. After all, it's the Coldstream Guards inspecting the Cadet Force, and we're just affiliated with them, but it would still affect our CO, who is still a member of the Guards. It's pretty cool that we have an important guy in charge of the CCF. Means we get loads of the latest stuff, seeing as he's pretty influential with the Guards and at Sandhurst (Britain's officer college)

I second Storm's happy birthday. Have fun! And Morph: The idea is that if you choose the best half, you're likely to get people who won't muck up. If one or two people do something wrong, it's not that much of a problem. I mean, people make mistakes in the real thing out in Afghanistan, so I'm sure that the Brigadier will appreciate that everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I doubt it will all go wrong. After all, it's not as if we are at all a badly-performing CC

Well, unknown to me, only about half of the CCF (Combined Cadet Force) I'm in gets to go (ie the best go on display, and as a reward, effectively, get to do the other stuff at the AGI as well. Hmm... I think that magic, as you believe in it, is thought of as absurd due to how magic is used in popular culture.
