Vintish: in My Documents/My Games/Iron clad/Sins of a solar empire Rebellion/GalaxyForge is where you put the maps you made. GalaxyForge 4 is in C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\sins of a solar empire rebellion\Galaxy Forge(might be a little different for you tho, depending on where you installed steam)
Looks cool! Just found a little error on there: This map was designed By Gizmondo100, only The mightiest little Solider's will survive! I think it should be Soldier, because I don't think solider is a word :P Btw, I've been making my own symetrical map, do you think
We can't take Paypal for pre-orders. I would assume once we are actually shipping Paypal will be added.
Alrighty than, I will just have to wait a bit than.
seebah, you can do that easily. just go to your sins folder(For me C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\sins of a solar empire rebellion\GameInfo) , gameinfo, find gameplay.constants and look at the first few lines, max cannons should be superweapons I believe. It might be better to make a mod of it instead of screwing around in the real files tho. So just copy the gameplay.constants, make a new map in your sins rebellion mod folder(C:\Users\Brian\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Gam
It seems PayPal isn't a way to pay anymore? Or am I doing something wrong? Edit: Rebellion can still be paid with PayPal, but it seems the collectors edition can't...Please make the CE also payable through PayPal...
I don't review games until after several patches....this is because the initial release can be awful, but patched versions can be absolutely fantastic... We bitch and complain about Sins having issues, the devs sucking at balance, and the updates coming out slowly....but much bigger releases (Civilization and Total War games, as examples) suffer from the same problem...the CTDs in them aren't as common (if ever) but balance and
Lovely new graphics less lag and great victory conditions exept occupation, but the crashes are cracking it down. 8.3/10 Edit: I hate occupation because it is just too damn easy to take over and AI doesn't even try to take it back.
Thanks harpo! Makes it alot easier to try to learn little bits of changing certain files for more fun in my eyes :)
Hmm. I'm looking in there now but can't seem to find it...I must be blind xD edit: Nvm I think I've found it. maxNumberOfCannonsPerPlayer 4 Almost at the top. Thanks alot for the help Volt.
Well, the broadcasting centers will just keep doing what they were doing before, just like all the other things, It just won't get orders anymore.
8+2 guns doing 1/4 damage of (the same kind of) 3+1 guns firing at another angle is totally counter-intuitive. I'm not surprised that Soase has a reputation for high learning curve. This is supposed to be a *video* game not a spreadsheet game: ship turns broadside, *invisible* dps goes from 6.3 to 22.0 according the deeply hidden number that only the dev exe can reveal, while the visible effect indicates the opposite might happen.[/quo
At the moment I am trying to change some things to make it more to my liking, but I can't seem to figure out how to make the superweapon limit to 0, instead of 4, since I really dislike superweapons :| Is there any easy way to reduce it to 0, or is it alot of work if I want it? xD
.
Well, it's lame then. Back to playing Sword of the Stars, I guess.
I don't really see the problem of it...And usually I'm to busy making sure all my ships are doing what they should be doing and making sure I'm not losing too many cap ships in the fight(Cruisers etc. I could care less about) to actually watch how many weapons my ships are firing with :o
The only thing I hate so far about auto attacking, is that ships fighters bombers etc. often choose to attack trade ships/refinery ships instead of attacking enemies that actually make a difference :/
I too have alwas found it weird that the AI still exists after you have defeated them, they won't jump out of their grav wells anymore, but will attack if you come into theirs. Basicly they are still alive but all their phase engines malfunctioned. Altho easier to get capital ship levels this way, sometimes I wish they were just gone, or that the ships became rebels which took out the structures/planets.
So far I've had space ponies appear in every map, whether made in map editor, GF, or a map already in game...It's getting kind of boring.
This could be attributed to the AI buying levels for newly created capitals. Besides, they do a healthy lot of spanking neutrals and pirates.
Yeah I know you can buy up to lvl 4, which I do as well when I got enough credits and low lvl capitals. But it's just weird their capitals are lvl 7 or so while mine are still lvl 4/5
I always wondered what those space ponies were about. What are they supposed to do?
They do absolutely nothing. Just an achievement
Pirates do indeed get stronger the more money they collect, having 50 or so ships warp in each with 80 dps hurts, ALOT, my starbase died that day, but the red button destroyed them xD
You can select the cannon and assign it a number like you do with fleets (IE CTRL+1,2,3,etc). I've never tried to link them in any way. I usually just assign 7,8,9,0 for any super weapons I want to micro manage.
For me it's always 5678 for superweapons, 9 for titan ;p But yeah, making them a hotkey is the way I play
It would be nice if the ruinDef could have multiple settings, with different results depending on the "Strip" technology researched... For modding purposes though, at the moment I suppose you could do terraforming just fine, but you could not have terraforming while simultaneously having the traditional strip to the core... I do agree the credit gain is retarded...changed it for my personal use already...I also have asteroids
I've found that space ponies appear a whole lot more than in diplomacy as well, which kinda sucks since it's not a real achievement anymore if you get it on every map and it isn't a very low chance to get it anymore and feel special ;p
Don't forget that their capitals get levels out of no where...Atleast that is what I think they are getting, their capitals are lvl 7 and higher and I have never seen them in combat somtimes, while at other moments they got lvl 3's :S
