Thank you so much Doc for posting this information, you are the best !! I've set about making all the changes to get this problem removed from my system. --Ace--
The hacker group, Anonymous , warned this was going to start happening. On it's YouTube video posting , it called for all of it's allies to activate attacks that would affect Corporate backed Main Stream Media outlets as punishment for their dishonesty and outright lies to the American Public.
Isn't that the explorer background issue again?
Yes it is. I was merely demonstrating that it only effects my particular machine when engaging in this process of deleting a file. Just trying to help cover all the bases when you try to remedy the problems. --Ace--
Quoting LightStar, reply 13 There is that icon issue ALMonty mentioned Neil. I checked it out and it happens here too on Windows 8.1 64-bit. What icon issue? All I see is a report of problems with explorer background transparency.<
I right clicked to delete a file and this is what I get when I actually click the delete button: EDIT : Windows 7 Ultimate x64
So far so good. Windows 7 Ultimate X64 [e digicons][/e] -- Ace --
It's great to hear that the problem has been identified and resolved. Will look forward to the updated version release next week. Thank-you Neil & Stardock team. -- Ace --
Yeah , I don't understand the "deleted font" thing. I always have my settings in Windowblinds to : "Do not apply any style system wide fonts" I use strictly Windows default font. The new beta version definitely changes the font to a much larger and different font compared to the smaller default font that I'm always accustomed to seeing in all previous versions. -- Ace --
I agree with your findings Tom, I did some testing myself and found the same issues. --Ace--
I downloaded and installed the patches to fix the Windows Update issues and they worked perfectly for me. Windows Update checked then downloaded new updates in a timely manner. I read the information about each individual update and went ahead and installed them. After the updates were installed , my system is running with no problems or glitches at this time. [e digicons][/e] --Ace--
Tom is correct. I rolled back to previous WBlind version to compare and found that the latest Beta does indeed randomly change the font for many skins. Since I'm using Win7 x64 and the version 10.4.5 seems to function flawlessly for my particular build, I guess I'll stick with this until issues can be addressed and corrected in new beta. --Ace--
This updated beta seems to be working fine. Chrome opens with no problem and browsing seems to work with no problems. Haven't noticed any other issues so far (Windows 7 Ultimate x64). Thank you Stardock. [e digicons][/e] --Ace-- Edit: Concerning font issue as mentioned by Tom, I'll have to double check that on my system, not sure what font I'
Betas are the worst (but they are also sort of fun in a sick sort of way) A number of the changes in this build are for mixed DPI. If you are having issues, we need to know your OS and version (Win-key+R, type winver, select OK), how many monitors, what DPI they are at. Thanks! OK , I tried it again.....latest version of Chrome installed. No WindowBlinds installed. Works fine. Installed new WB Beta.....same problem...Chrome will not open, only gives an error tone. Uninstalled Beta and installed WB ver. 10.4.5 version no problems , Chrome works fine. Of course I would have liked to have had the ver. 10.4.6 to re-install but it seems that that version has been scrubbed from my Stardock downloads option.
OK so how about factual updated info? My Windows 7 laptop is running fine however I have not installed the rollup updates yet. Has anyone installed them or know someone who has and if so what was the outcome? I am not installing any rollup updates until I have more info.
What could go wrong ?...right ? --Ace--
Thank-you so much werewolf (David) , and Dave...I'm very touched , you made my day [e digicons]:sun:[/e] --Ace --
For me personally , it is so very depressing that Microsoft has devolved into a second rate company with second rate designers and developers. What happened to them since Bill Gates has left ? I use to admire them for their great systems at one time.....Win95 ,Win98 SE, XP , Win 7 to name a few. Now it just seems we get one trash system after another. It is so very sad.
Ah, thank you sir. I will give that a try. Pretty handy for sure. In Win 10, when I go to "Devices and Printers " there are icons there which are not being represented by the current IP set. Are there just some icons which cannot be changed? I didn't see the appropriate icon in Pa
In IconPackager 10, you can create icon packages by clicking "Customize" in the left side menu, then click the "package builder" button at the bottom of that menu. Then you drag and drop your icon design in the appropriate spot that that icon represents. When you have completed loading all your icon designs , click "save as" and name your custom package and save to the default location of your other iconpackages. If you want to view an already created package
