Look, you pre-order the game you get the beta. This is an outstanding deal to me. Makes a ton of sense. I wish other companys would do the same. I pre-order games all the time and wait and wait for the final code. This is an opportunity to buy a game you maybe were already going to buy, and you get to play now and perhaps influence features and such. OS/2 was our desktop of choice for years, but as MS apps became the defacto choice of business and they crashed and burned under OS/2's windows emulation, a decision was made to replace all OS/2 desktop machines with Windows and Lanserver servers with Novell. I personally liked OS/2 far more than win 3.1.....but once buggy old Win95 showed up, I sort of jumped ship. Couldn't one just save the random seed and use that on a reload. I thought that's what civ3 did to avoid the reload type cheats....
