Yep I have similar problem, but I agree I can play for 6-8 hours before I see it, I dont really see more of a slowdown as a OOM CTD. Still much improved from the E:WOM days...

SPOILER ALERT!!!! if you mod your starting weapons to be superior than existing starts, then you WILL greatly reduced the difficulty of the game. Optionally, you -could- add to your backstory that you were thrown out of your former glory, forced to start over from virtually scratch. or you can set the game on easy and mod starting weapons to the best in the game, you will only be cheating yourself, I do not really care, just thought to throw a competting idea out there
I saw the Release notice and thought back to the promise Brad made to us early adopters some 2+ years ago and thought I check out the progress, Good, Bad or Ugly, I wish to express my gratitude to the team who labored so long on this and then giving it away to those who held the faith! Sincerely, Thank you!
Just throwing out some spaghetti on the wall here hoping something sticks... Have you folks at SD ever considered talking to Smith and Tinker folks like Jordan Weisman (www.smithandtinker.com) about doing a TBSRPG set in the BattleTech universe circa 3025-ish? Your Game engine seems to be malleable enough to be able to do it well enough. It would be more strategic and less tactical than the MechCommander series. Basically a TBS in BattleTech and RPG fo
It is trying to be, the basics are there, but there is no story. In FFH2, we had Armageddon, we had a pretty good understanding of the relationships between a lot of the nations, their motivations of the rulers, the world had landmarks and such. The world has no story in the game. The elements (not a pun) are there, and the book provided some of that. If I find some mystical library, how can I find it just about anywhere?&nb
I want "Balance" to be addressed in Beta 1.2 PLEASE!!! [e digicons]:D[/e] BTW... Good job on your sense of humor!
I think the Morphing landscape should take into account textures for rivers(Flowing Waters) and lakes/Swamps (pooled waters) as it already provides for Seas and Oceans. The morphing should have an altitude attribute and water should collect in the valley's between mountains and flow to the lower elevations and if it reaches a plain before reaching the sea then it should pool into either a lake or a swamp. This is all just my opinion but it should morph with the terraforming sp
Face it fro the most part this game. (this genre for that matter) revolves around teching as hard and fast as you can alot of the times. The tech advantage in turn based games is usually one of the biggest edges you can get.
This is why the Equipment and armour techs should not be game changers with a one tech level advantage imho.
Derek , Please do not discount what was done in MOM or Age of Wonders with alternate maps unless this game engine is just completely incapable of being modified in that way.... It was always kind of creepy seeing that hole in the ground early in a game wonder what was there but knowing if I went too soon I'd get my butt handed to me...
Maybe Xia is becomming more compassionate as time flies... Regardless I agree, gold does not force the player to choose which champs to outfit and with which pieces... Gold is not a good limiter as it is in great supply in late game. No tough choices = boring game.
Will FE be developed to support Win7 64-bit? Sounds cool!
It is a game mechanic... Sigh...love it , hate it or like I am be indifferent to it. It is a fair limiter since all sides are limited the same by it. Could it have been done better? probably. Why did SD do it this way? I have no frickin' idea... SD will have to answer that one. When I need more food, I use a spell, I research the food tech in the adventure tree, those also make no sense, but there they are the same for all sides. It
We do not really have two different factions... because the AI behaves the same from each... sure, I grant that there are differences in units and buildings but there needs to be differences in behaviors of the AI for each faction to match.
1.11 is markedly better... The AI is more aggressive and not as braindead as in 1.1 and earlier. I still would like to see more character in teh AI from one to the next. Markon - the Gilden Sov come after me in the first 50 turns as if he was umber and i'm kingdom. Still 1.11 is progress in the correct trajectory, Keep it going SD and Brad!
Did you set your opponent's difficulty to novice? Some people set the world to novice thinking this affects the difficulty of the computer players.
But it does not.
Xia is spot on in all stated regards...
Promising!

IB, Have you tried this strategy on Large/EPIC/Ridiculous AI settings? I agree on Spell immunity being OP w/o mana upkeep I wonder if that is more of an oversight (bug) than intentional though.
Diar, RPG is an acronym for Role-Playing Game. I am assuming you did not know this based on your comment. There must certainly are RPG mechanics - every unit in the game can gain levels. RPG mechanic. Levels are gained from XP gains. RPG mechanic. Quests - RPG mechanic. I'm sure there are more...
Nice! For you, it sounds like Ceresa is a nasty evil sorcerous that you need some spell immunity against Ceresa before trying that hero stunt again. ;) Cheers!
Yeah Book 1 is a struggle for me to even consider it a campaign... it seemed more of a self-directed tutorial than anything else. I would welcome other more fleshed out campaigns
The games would last forever! I have no intention to play it this way.
Oh and please recognize that the AI is not smart enough to move the AI Sov safely by itself. So do not allow it to do so. === THIS IS MY CHIEF AI GRIPE!!!===
