If you want to save your ally, just give them a small colony just before they lose their last colony. Then bash the common enemy, liberate your allys homeworld. Give it back to him. If you are lucky he might even trade you the small colony you gave him in the beginning. :CONGRAT:

Oh my god! Ive killed billions of people! This game is too immoral to play. Im deleting it right now. ;p
Another thing. It would be great if you were told why the people loved/hated you. Mayby a poll on cetain areas like fiscal management, planetary security & habitat, morality etc..
I have noticed the same in 3A, but as a note I think you should only be able to "downgrade" your government typr if your party controls more 50% of the parlairment.
It was only me and the Drengin left and they had only 5 solar systems left when I suddenly got the message: "You have lost" and a description on how the Terrans met an untimely extinction in the quest for universal Supremacy. Why is that? :sniff!: The Drengin was totally destabilized and had no money to spend.
Why does the encyclopedia not link to the pages about the Torian, Arcean and Drengin?
I experienced something similar. The Altarians (who controlled most sectors) suddenly declared war on me (I think it was because did some evil things for a while). They were already a war with everybody else. So I went out and destroyed all their ships orbiting their planets. Unfortunately their planets pop was too large for me to capture with transports. Later on the Altarians surrendered to the Scottlings who were bankrupt so at that point the Drezings and I gobbled up the spoils.
Ive done the math on the ships and it seems that the "Space Shark" has the best cost benefit ratio. THis means that if you can mass produce Space Sharks then you can outgun even an Overlord. Though it takes you 15 Space Sharks to wear the Overlord down, but you can produce 30 Space Shark in the time to produce an Overlord. The big question is then: "How do you get the tech to build a Space Shark". ;)
When a planet revolts from me I have twice gotten a shit load of bc. Why is that? Usually the money was well needed because the unhappiness was caused by fiscal troubles. BTW is bc short for billions of credits?
I would like to be able buy star maps from the other civs (an important thing in another well known game LOL ). Even though they other civs already know the good planets they dont seem to know the resources so maps may still be worth something to them and minors may also want to buy/trade maps.
What is the period between assemblies? 4 years? What are the penalties for dropping out of UP? I assume you cant trade with any one but what else? Can the AI drop out ? And is if yes can two non UP civs trade? I think UP is cool but has much unfilled potential. You should be able to propose your own laws once in a while. It doesnt make sense that even when you control more than 50% you have to rely on somebody else (why ?) to proposes stuff you can vote on. <br
Its a nice site with lots of helpful info, but why are there no hitpoints info on the ships? Is there something that I have missed?
#1 I find it very easy to bankrupt (some) other races. When they have less than 2000 bc and a surpless less than 100bc /month and I have a lot of techs I can sell these techs for ex. 100 bc over a lot of months this will deplete their treasury and it seems that when they get more than 500bc in debt they have a hard time to recover again (just like when you get in that mess yourself. #2 The minor races usually have much more influence points than the big boys 3000+ ! Why is that
Which factores and how are they involved in your population growth? I assume that your pop bonus and the planet rating are involved and the growth is proportional with the current pop. But what about morale/approval rating and is there a populatio cap due to planet rating? I would guess the terran social scientist should let the Emperor know about these things (birds & bees LOL )
