Jarget, you misinterpreted my opening. It was meant for what I, ME, was about to say not that you were whining. I concur with you that there has been a lowering of standards, or at least what some of us do. BUT, as has been pointed out, what some of us think is not worthy, others love.

Hoooo boy, here we go... all passengers fasten your seat belts and please observe the no whining sign. The problem with that Jafo is that there are some people here at WC who have personal vendettas and run around lowering the score of skins out of shear childishness. Of course the old standby jeaslousy may also play a role in this activity. Thus, anyone who does such may be missing out on some truly good work. [Message Edited]

Yea koop I forgot MIKE! Mr. Humble himself. Sorry Mikey. Furan... programming genious of Stardock (or so I believe) as he seems to have his hands in everything. This wasn't a popularity contest of people on WC but to mention those that hang out in the IRC channels helping, inspiring and just being downright annoying. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegrim.gif" border=0

I have to say... I started skinning during the Windows95 days. Skinning was not easy but it wasn't a nightmare either. Since I've returned, I've updated 3 of my old skins to XP standards. It was a hell of a learning curve and took longer than it did to create the originals. I can't even imagine what it would be like if I hadn't had a base to work from. My point... as Brad said, skinning is a lot harder than it was in the old days. Thus unlike those days gone, I believe more than ever th

I have to do this... These are the people that I am most influenced by who deserve your kudos. Without them, the community would not be the same for me. You'll have to pardon the smartass remarks added to some of them but it's a key to who they are. Hippy: My oldest friend in the community. He is the one that pulls me out of hiding and back into skinning from time to time. Extremely talented, a REA

While people may have good intentions of making a donation, they may never actually get around to it because there is nothing compelling them to do so. As I said above... shareware vs. commercialware.

Gray... Take a shareware program that has no expiration vs. a commercial program that you are forced to buy. I've seen MANY shareware programs that far exceeded the quality of the commercial one. I don't need to elaborate any further as I think you can figure the rest on your own. I've not experienced your take on comments. I would have to say 95% of mine are positive. My point is, if they are enjoying the skin and don't take what is litterally a few minutes to mention it to you and cos

Did you really expect money gray? All of those downloads and how many actually took the trouble to leave a comment? If that's too much trouble for most, why would they send money? Take a look at the total # of downloads you have on all of your skins, then the total # of comments and figure out the percentage. Unless you specifically release a skin as a suite for purchase, I tend to think you are hoping for too much. Sorry for the bluntness but this is the way it is.

First of all, thank you Larry for the recognition to all of the regulars who are always willing to go out of thier way to help. I like helping people new to skinning because I was once new and had several people who devoted time to getting me into this community. It's my way of repaying all the effort they gave and continue to. Larry is a great guy himself and is a blessing to this community! Thanks to all the people he mentioned for inspiring me! OH, and as for the in

Isn't that a kicker? So many people are like "Yea yea yea, do it!" and then most of them don't send a picture in. Come on boyz and girlz, here's your chance to prove to everyone that you don't have fur, an antenna or nose hair! Er... skip that last one. And you China baby... come on... it's you who will make it worth a visit to the page. Don't make me grovel damn it!

Don't mind the sleepy Pitbull or the cheezy slippers and dog toys scattered about." Hmmm... China you do weaken me for some odd reason. Me and the kids in Niagra... http://bigbadwolf.rcreviews.net/rich_chilluns.jpg

Lightstar... if you only hit one of two pages a day, sure that's fine. However, comparing prices, specs, researching, etc. having more than one page loaded at a time is a big time saver. Chris... valid point on the go button but weren't you the one who said you don't like the mouse?

After checking out the site, it's actually not a bad site. Doesn't seem to be a lot of commercialism there so perhaps he collected a few names from here just to get some more members. There is a Dark Mist there but not sure if it's "our" Dark Mist.
