It's only been done for some games. Found the game I mentioned. It's Puzzle Quest 2. On Steam, it's Steamworks enabled. On D2D they have the same release, but with the SteamWorks component removed. As such, it doesnt have any online functions. It is big, if more services like D2D do this for more games.

I'll probably get it off the shelf when I buy it (especially since there is usually no discount for D2D-style purchases compared to B&M shelf purchases - so I might as well get something physical for my money), and I'll probably break it so it doesn't require a check-in to play single-player (which of course is against the EULA, but I'm evil I

Where? The D2D version of Civ 5 most definitely has Steamworks. In fact if you buy from D2D, they give you a *steam* activiation code for it. You download it in Steam.
Check the game king

It's amazing the level of greed on these publishers, if GoG was indeed shutdown by their new publisher owner, who wanted DRM and regional pricing on their store. Why slap DRM and other locks on and charge more for old games the current xbox 360 military arcadey halo reach FPS gaming crowd wouldnt stare at for more than 30 seconds.

I've been enjoying with GoG since they opened, and this is a real surprise. They are known for making all kinds of pranks, and cryptic stunts, but and right now they arent saying anything more. I do want to say it's a PR stunt, a very ill-conceived one, but a stunt nonetheless.

Paypal is indeed s scam, a poorly managed service, and a joke. I stopped buying anything online with them because of their random blocking of any transaction they deem "strange" or "funny", and by that they mean any transaction from outside the USA. It's been a widespread rule for them for years now. The sheer amount of complaints from people around the globe is of no concern to them. The biggest problem with them is since they are not a bank, they are not liable and dont have to

And the war in Afghanistan tasteful?
The 2003 bush invasion was tasteless. I just find hypocritical that the same people that supported this now unpopular war are now bitching about some game with make-believe guns and make-believe soldiers and insurgents.

Of course, there's the fact that a lot of movies are based on the wars, but apparently some people see a difference there.
I might well be the minority here, but I think it's absolutely tasteless to have an FPS game set really in a ongoing conflict, especially in essentially a multiplayer frag-fest. I think it's different if you're a franchise like SP:MBT where you can handle those sort of conflicts with a measure of realism and sensitivity, but playing Taliban and gunning down coalition troops is just a little much for me. I'd like to also point out tha
For those comparing WWII Germans to the Taliban it is worth pointing out that the situation was completely different in that many of those soldiers were fighting for nationalistic reasons (i.e. because they were German). The Taliban, however, are not a national government, thus those that fight under that title are doing mostly for belief. Of course, this begs the question as to whether it's more reprehensible to kill someone based on

Most "terrorist"-y organizations make use of guerilla tactics as opposed to the Covenant, which is a very centralized, traditional military force. And, civilians of any of the Covenant member species are never really encountered by the Humans, thus the covenant cannot recruit new members based on the message of resisting an overwhelming,

I have only tried one game with GFWL, and being in a non-supported country the game launched. DOW II doesnt rely on GFWL for online does it? This was expected, given Relic's complete Steam fanboism. Reactor needs to be released yesterday.
