It is possible to add tradeships with guns and abilities, but the abilities have to be passive as you have no control over each individual ship. I could help, or there are a multitude of other modders out there who could help you.

The Online is great, but there are not a huge amount of people online at any given time. The original demo was completely unbalanced, and only gave one a taste of what EPIC meant. You could get a couple javelis and destroy the opponent. (just download it to find out what a javelis is) I really like the game, but I am a much better modder than an online player.
