I agree to a degree. The graphics are amazing (I've been playing games since the monochrome days :P ). However, I found the game itself bored me for some reason. The graphics were impressive, but the gameplay just didn't do it for me. Which is weird because on paper it sounds awesome, and it looks awesome. I just can't put my finger on what it is that I don't like.

Ok, I'm putting a very early version up for people to play with. Right now, it just creates a new race type, and in doing so, creates a new UnitModelType. Just so you know, it's written in Java, as that's the only language I know right now. Try running it with the switch -localdataonly. The beta dials home when opening, and this seems to be the issue.
God those shots make me hate Win 8. Like Daiwa said, those windows are fine for a phone, or tablet, but a desktop? It makes me want to vomit.

How could you say the story's not that good if you didn't finish the game? I admit, Mass Effect has always has those stupid annoying things to it (mining in 2, driving on planets in the 1st one). But I actually think the story is pretty damn good, for a video game.
I also wonder what the difference would be going an AMD route? If you have to change the MB anyways, you could get into a Phenom II X6 for a decent price. I know the i7s and such are better than the latest AMDs, but usually when going for best bang for the buck, at a mid range price, AMD usually wins out.
If you're running a resolution lower than your desktop resolution it will default to windowed. In your FE directory in MyDocs, locate the Prefs.ini file. Inside this file is a line Fullscreen=0. Change that to 1. Save, start playing.
