i thought the whole point of that case was function over form?
I just purchased a new retail copy of Windows 8.1 last week for a brand new computer. Don't regret it even slightly!
brand new as in couple of year old hardware (pre-skylake) or brand new brand new? because.. you might have heard that ms has stopped providing any sort of patches for win 7 and 8.1 for anything newer than skylake... as well as some skylake machines https://arstechnica.co.uk/information-techno
even if you can uninstall it, chances are it'll install itself again every month XD
Does the new Edge (or any other browser) automatically update all your bookmarks and settings between computers? If I log into Chrome with my GMail account, on any PC, Chrome updates all my bookmarks and settings on that PC based on the last PC I signed in on. I have never seen another browser that does that. Cellphone, laptop, tablet, desktop, it does not matter, they get updated. Really nice! [e digicons][/e] [/quote
not sure why you need acrobat reader. unless it's for more than just reading pdf, which you can do with browsers nowadays, if not other alternatives. (someone mentioned they need it for something else before. forgot if it was you)
well.. ms just did something silly... it won't auto-scan for update on new cpus... with the older os.. http://www.ghacks.net/2017/03/17/microsoft-blocks-updates-for-new-cpus-on-windows-7-and-8-1/
firefox 52 (released yesterday) is supposed to kill all npapi plugins bar flash.
send me one of those if you have a spare XD that said.. i don't need a new machine ... so chances are i'll miss the whole ryzen thing.. hell, chances are i'll miss the whole 10nm thing too XD (i was saying the articles i read aren't necessarily most accurate... but they suggest ryzen are selling like hotcakes. amd was prepared but the motherboard people less so.)
not necessarily the most reliable sources... . https://techreport.com/news/31545/ryzen-availability-check-eight-cores-and-nowhere-to-put-em http://wccftech.com/ryzen-am4-motherboards-supply-shortage/
you probably can't find a motherboard to go with the cpu atm anyway XD or so i read.
i read something funny the other day... (don't really know the technical stuff aside from there's a screw up) wonder which security software it is.. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20170303-00/?p=95655
unless there's no measure that you can take.. aside from pulling the plug. i don't think anyone is opposed to disclosure. the tricky thing is the amount of time a company is given to fix an issue. how do you know if a company is dragging its feet or having difficulties?
well... you could argue the blackhats who knew about it and keeping quiet are more likely to be state affiliated and selective against their targets. compared to kits built using disclosure info being available to everyone and dog who whacks everyone and dog. obviously it's not a hard and fast rule...
same one the doc wrote about? bbc is just a few days late XD speaking of windows... on the bright side.... in future, you can forbid installation of win32 stuff on win10! on the other hand, you'll just get infected by uwp stuff XD http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-to-permit-block-on-apps-installing-if-theyre-not-from-microsoft-store/
next thing you know, someone will say dig up the stuff from the old drawing board, take ashes engine and make (parts of) it real time.. XD
heh. i remember for some odd reason my win3.11? came with os/2 warp.. obviously didn't take me long to screw the whole thing up and ended up with win3.11 only...
the other way of looking at it is... it's very late XD given flash patches aren't comboed into other win10 patches anyway and so shouldn't have been delayed.
well.. it depends on which ryzen is compared to the i5, doesn't it. the articles headlines i've seen so far seem to suggest the high end parts stack up well performance wise so far at lower cost, but i did read one of the reason is that intel "wastes" a big chunk of the chip on igpu that simply doesn't get used by people using discrete gfx (whatever happened to the dx12/vulcan mixing gpus?) whereas the amd cpu is just that... cpu. a different article i read suggest
oddly.. i am not sure it makes a big difference for xcom2... didn't feel much difference when i shoved it between ssd and 7..2k hdd... i normally just have win10 on the ssd and steam itself.. but keep games in hdd.. though i think for division it was more noticible... wonder why...
read on bbc they went to the wrong city... (not really)
interestingly... just noticed the nvidia driver installed by win10 automatically...apparently a few days ago. 376.53 - it doesn't exist on nvidia's website...... wonder what's so important... i had 376.33 installed. .. 1st time it happened i think since i installed win10. normally.. i don't install the 3d vision drivers.. just the gfx/hd audio and physicx... it auto-installedthe 3d vision this time... just as well it didn't install the geforce experience... <
no idea why anyone needs acrobat readers these days.. even browsers read pdf by default (via javascript).. heck.. you can even set a default browser to read pdf (eg.. use edge to read pdf and nothing else)
wait.. why are you petitioning congress rather than trump?
well.. if it's win7 retail, you are supposed to be able to install it into another machine.. (provided you are not using it on more than 1 at the same time)... as opposed to oem, where you can't. that bit (ie what happens after win 10 upgrade) was never really really made clear. could be because it's the same machine that causes it to raise up a fuss. i don't think ms is allowed to get rid of the rights of people to migrate their win 7 retail. upgrading win7 retail doe
at least not for yahoo XD
