Glad to hear it frogboy. For me this game is already a success. I checked steam and found I have only played Civ 5 for 14 hours before I got bored. In comparison, I think I have put hundreds of hours into WOM and FE. The recent 0.86 has definitely got a one more turn feeling. I am checking out these forums on a regular basis for any signs of he next patch. It is very exciting to be this close and involved in a game genre that I love playing. Thanks for the openness&n

When you win the game you receive an overview of how the game went. History, strength, mana etc etc It would be nice to see this screen if you select retire also. Then you can see how poorly you did vs computer players and get some sense of where you dropped the ball.
I would like to see outpost upgrades. e.g., small garrison, strong garrison, defensive gargoyles (or whatever). You could even add a wizards tower for that lone wizard working on new spells (research bonus ?) It has to be simple and not get too involved but I would certainly like the outpost to have some chance of resisting foreign invasion.
Yes I have very regular CTD. Can happen at any time. Did not have any with 0.77. I will lok into sending in crash reports, I have not that done that in the past.
@blackrainz up until recently I never saw any actual caravans. Now they are appearing as "units" down the left side of the screen. Here is a screenshot BTW the hero for hire near the bottom of the picture cost some astronomical amount of money - I am talking in the millions of gold. :) </p
I have just successfully completed my first game of 0.86. I scored 3325 points. I have had quite a few CTD with both 0.85 and 0.86 something that I did not have a problem with in v 0.77. These would occur at random moments. However, this is now an enjoyable game. I felt I had to really work it, even towards the end.I had to balance my armies and heroes ensure that they were moving with purpose in order to prevent my enemies swamping me with horde
I am the youthful sidekick - sounds fine to me
I have had a look through the forums but I haven't seen one positive post about 0.85. (at least in the titles). While the posts that I have seen about 0.85 offer much criticism (constructive and otherwise) I am surprised that no one has come out to say that the game is now fun and challenging. Can I then be the first to say that 0.85 is a significant leap forward. I had fun and I got my arse handed to me by the AI. I played 4 hours straight la
Wouldn't be easier to have a situation where you can spend more/or less gold on research? It could have a minimum and maximum multiplier on research. The amount of gold to get to that multiplier could increase as you become a more advanced civilization.
I will have to have another read of your figures. I have never switched tax rates because there just didn't seem to be any point. It is not like you can make subtle changes.
I find that monsters don't generally attack until such time that my town is so strong that they are no match for me. I believe that the closer your town is, and the closer your armies come the more agitated roaming monsters should become. If a lair falls within your boundaries then the monsters should certainly get very peeved with you.
Agreed. I was mighty annoyed afetr playing really well and getting rated as Janusk
It would be nice if player could set up a formation. (e.g., like HOMM) If no formation is chosen (i.e. quicker start) then your army is set up in same formation as the last encounter. I hate it when I have an earth elemental stuck at the back of my army and it take three turns before they are anywhere near the enemy.
Sweet - I went back later and took it out using a deadly army with no hero involved. Go figure.
I just won by casting the spell of mastery - it took ages and there is no indication of how far through the caster is. I thought I was stuck with a bug. At the moment there is no suspense. It is not like when you build the rocket in civ and an enemy state is also building. You throw all your resources to complete the task and at same prevent someone else interfering. When you start casting the spell all other leaders should be made aware of it. If
yeah that sucks.
@Zygwen Ok I might have a look into that. I have one of those massive elemental beings to destroy. It has approx 600hp and does about 300hp damage per hit. I have nothing that will survive a single hit so I am looking for ways to reduce its abilities. I am quite enjoying this challenge. Can't wait to see how this game develops as it is shaping up to be a long term keeper for me.
I find that my caster is pretty terrible at taking out big bad enemies. Powerful enemies with massive of hits points are also resistant to magic. That is not a bad thing but there should be ways to reduce their resistance. He doesn't appear to have any spells to do decrease resistance and in my current game I haven't found any cool items that do any thing similar. Does magic resistance decrease as physical damage increases? Are there
Is it possible to lower an enemies resistance to magic? I find my caster is fairly useless as all his spells only work if enemy doesn't resist. And they seem to resist almost 100% of the time. Resistance should decrease as physical damage increases and perhaps there should be spells or items that will lower the magic resistance of your enemy.
agreed. I haven't played 0.77 since I figured that the game was broken as it was. I will play again when next patch comes out. ;)
If we plot this DNA deterioration on a graph, we can deduce that humanity isn't as old as Evolutionists try to claim.... humanity is only 6,000 years old, according to DNA deterioration. [e digicons]:D[/e] Crikey you made my day. Humanity is only 6000 years old, that is too funny. Better not tell the Aboriginals of Australia who have been there about 70,000 years ago.
religion is just an evolution of superstition. All humans are superstitious it is a simple behaviour modification concept.
Glad we cleared that up.
Believe in what? Why don't people believe in Loki any more or Zeus? People are atheist towards most gods that have ever been part of human history, why not take it one step further? If people stopped believing in supernatural beings they may take more responsibility for their own actions and start respecting the wonder of the natural universe. It is amazing enough as it is without conjuring up supernatural answers to your questions.
43 pages when a simple no would have been enough. There is no god, gods or pantheons, no supernatural beings no boogie-man that goes bump in the night.
