Their faction power is stronger than yours because basically they have more settlements, resources, and military. I think the AI is probably putting more into their warfare techs thus their military might is stronger. Focus on obtaining a stronger power base early game and I promise you&

And Im sure there are examples of card (or creature) A is better than B which is better than C which is better than A. But thats just a small part of a much larger picture, where the cards have strategic strengths and combinations.
The fact that you just mentione
Hi Lord Cobol - you might want to post your last couple of saves to help out. Brad was using mine and the save helped him reproduce my most recent oom. Just a suggestion. [e digicons][/e]
Brad - as mentioned in prior posts loading a game within a game is quite dangerous for memory usage. Please see this recent thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/406297 I took the 1.19j turn 111 save and recorded memory usage per load until oom or CTD. Here's the save and below are the measurements: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Elemental/119j/119j_
Hi - as someone who's been playtesting each patch for several months I think I've got a pretty good grasp of early game. Here's my advice: First two techs to research are Equipment and Leather armor. This allows you to wield oak spears and gear your sovereign or champions to tank effectively for awhile. A champion duked out in all leather armor with an axe and shield can run with like 15 defense early game. This is more than adequate to fight off monsters and early
Brad - if it's helpful I can provide saves showing progression of the game. I save each turn manually right before I end turn so it's easy for me to throw them into dropbox for ya. Below are the saves for the turns listed. S1 - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Elemental/119j/119j_1.EleSav S10 - http://dl.drop
I've been living in your saved game. I appreciate the Frogboy. I don't know how CariElf would feel about things though. Anyway, lots of interesting things here. So, why do games crash during autosaves? The answer: memory fragmentation. Save games allocate 50M of memory to do their thing. At a certain point, with so many things being allocated and deallocated you eventually end up with the largest piece of
@csparkin01 - what version of the game are you running?
I don't think so but I recommend trying it to confirm.
In the game options switch to windowed mode from full screen mode. That should help a ton.
If your dodge is negative the Guardian Aura spell makes it worse by decreasing dodge by 50% instead of making it better. Please see below. Before I cast the spell I was -6 dodge but -9 afterwards.
AlLanMandragoran - many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. While I'm not convinced, I want you to know that it's appreciated. The improvement that sees a leaderless faction go over to the faction with the best dynasty connections doesn't address the initial concern that sovereigns basically commit suicide. Despite the best intentions of the improvement, the fact remains that the game will change,
Quoting MxM111, reply 6 It is just at this point, I wonder, if it is even smart for Stardock to spend resources on trying to improve the dead horse (I am a bit exaggerating here) and instead focus everything on expansion, which will be free anyway for most of the elemental players. Please Stardock, prove me wrong with patch 1.3! You're not the only one thinking that. Since so many people are get
I've largely been quiet on this forum, but I'll tell you why I'm angry. It isn't because WoM is disappointing or anything. I mean, it is disappointing, but that's fine - that's the chance you take with any game. No. What makes me angry is that despite its flaws, I actually enjoy the game...BUT...the "suicidal sovereign" bug is, to me, game-breaking (how can it not be game-breaking to anyone?)
Is this a custom map size? The debug indicates it's a 16x16 map (256 sectors) which would be way beyond what the game supports.
I see what you're saying now. I looked in the debug and see the 16x16 tiles. Maybe this is a key win for all of us. [e digicons]:)[/e]
What version are you running? In my experience what causes this is auto-explore on a unit getting all funky.I recommend the following: Look for ANY units or stacks that look like they're running in place. If they are, click on the stack and tell them to Guard. It will override their current action and can solve the problem. If none of your units are running in place, go through each one outside a city and ensure auto-explore is turned off. Left c
Very interesting. Other questions I have would be: 1. Did you unhide FOW during the game? 2. Was there a lot of conquest occurring? Particularly between Kingdom and Empire? 3. Was there a lot of environmental changing (terrain changing)? Thanks for your save games. Derek has asked me to take the lead on helping on this since I've recently gotten a b
Hi Frogboy, Here is a screenshot of my last manual save game. Note the mouseover box indicates the map size is 8x6. As the screenshots below show, I'm playing on the vanilla medium map named Colazi. Not sure why the debug would indicate a custom larger size. Maybe you and the crew can look into why the debug is showing that? I loaded up the game, used the
Thanks, Frog. Nope but I'll dig into it. I selected medium size map at game creation. I've never used the random map generator that Cephalo created and have only made one custom large map based off a vanilla template for AI testing purposes. It appears there are two areas of concern: How did I get something larger than medium? How did I get a custom map size? I'll dig into later today and advise. I'll try to find the vanilla map
1.19j OOM on manual save season 111. Had just designed a new Fanboy unit and was building one in each settlement and moving the obsolete units to my front line. That all completed successfully but when I saved manually, kidney shot! It is ironic it happened around turn 111 and in 1.19i it happend at turn 109. Here's another one which I can't determine why it is unbuildable. The tile is a normal grassland. Turn 85 save - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Elemental/119j/119j_85.EleSav Note the tile to the NW of Capital3's city center.
It's amazing how Brad just gets people to follow him. And if I'm sounding envious, I am. In the original story, here's Brad: "Impulse is starting to make too much money. I don't like that. Let's sell it." He's got his money, he just wants to focus his life on the fun stuff like designing games. And people folllow him! They follow him like
I've seen this before and also know others have posted in the past. Why are some tiles around a city unbuildable? The tile adjacent to Filler1 in the bottom right-hand corner (just above the arcane lab I'm about to place) does not allow me to build on it. It looks like the map thinks it's a forest tile (based on mousing over it with terrain window enabled) but no forest is visible. Maybe this is functioning as designed but it's a problem with the map data itself? I
