Wow - something is crazy wrong with the cartographer for me. It crashes every single time I exit it and try to start a new game.

Same thing as above post - cartographer issue. http://pastebin.com/cf2sjT7h
Was in cartographer messing around with a map, went back to main menu, started new game, and whammo, CTD. http://pastebin.com/KrkEv6fs
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, especially when a snake-oil salesman is giving directions and handing out free kool-aid.
Just because Frogboy has admitted that Elemental's release was rough and they're trying to fix it does not in any way make the whole situation anything other than an embarrassment, a bad example of the development process, and a bad sign for the future. Objectively speaking.
Your posts reveal more truth about your character than they do about Stardock. You remind me of Statler from the Muppets. <
- We would work around it. We would use phones to dial out into foreign ISPs, and in the meantime we would see massive riots as twelve million WOW subscribers took to the streets.
ROFL - [e digicons][/e]
I found the problem. Thanks to the user who sent me some saved games (1.elesav and 2.elesav). v1.19 breaks the XML tagging. Frankly, it's amazing that the AI did as well as it did in v1.19 because it was operating on its purely non-data driven part (I.e. learning a generic game). They're looking into it. Agree - Elemental needs a global financial crisis brought on by Capitar's version of Fannie & Freddie.
DX Error - Invalid Call I loaded the saved game off a fresh start of Elemental. Zoomed out to the cloth map. Started to zoom in and whammo, error. http://pastebin.com/bXRKjvae Here's the save: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Elemental/1.EleSav
Beta version or not the game should be a lot more stable by now, there just isn't any reason to put out another untested/buggy version of it. I do hope 1.2 will be a stable version, I've not seen a version of the game yet that didn't crash, run out of memory or slowed to a crawl late game! That even doesn't include the ton of minor bugs or lack luster AI. I would like to try mods but, don't use any mods because the game is still unstable, nobody shou
I posted a thread here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/404694 AI of some factions, even on ridiculous, are hovering around 6 or 7 faction power well into the game. I'm not sure why. I suspect their pathing or such is not allowing them to expand correctly as I've seen factions stack 16 pioneers on one tile when they were boxed in - and they kept making them anyway. In the saves, there is room for both Umber and Yit
Brad - can you please review these saves? Large map, max factions, ridiculous across the board, and there are a few factions hovering around 6 or 7 faction power while Gilden and Altar are growing exponentially. I've seen this before in prior games - I've seen pioneers and such trying to path somewhere but bouncing into a mountain like lemmings. One or two factions seem to grow just fine and the others just impotently sit there. It doesn't make much sense as the map is large and there is plen

Auto-explore will cause this. Find and click on each and every unstationed unit. Ensure auto-explore is turned off, click on a square next to the unit to move it there. I bet you will find the unit causing the issue - the second you find it, the end turn will cycle.
