As to turing the constructor round - I have done very similar things! An influence resource falls a lot further down my list of priorities than a military one. I assume the AI does a similar prioritisation.

Ellestar, I see what you're saying about wanting a 'fair fight' at high levels of difficulty, but I kind of think you are being a bit harsh to Stardock here. No AI (at the moment) will ever be able to be as good as the best of human players - as it will always be handicapped by having to have it's behaviour pre-specified. Now Stardock are obviously trying bery hard to make the AI as clever as possible (inside the rules) - witness the new Arcean AI changes, which just provide 's
Good thought DragonSister, but you missed: 4) "I'm a doctor not a scientist dammit!" :)
I thought I'd share one my most recent game as it included a lot of excellent memorable moments that GalCiv excels at for me! Also, it drew my attention to a few of the things I have seen discussed here, and I believe shows that even with some of the alledgedly 'broken' things it is just great fun. Started out in a huge galaxy, all AIs at normal (I'm only a beginner!) somewhat random starting picks (a bit of diplomacy, some research, morale help). Got an ideal starting location about th
Nope, my disc arrived without any charges at all.. unless you count 'lost time tax' :)
Yes! As someone with more than one machine I like it a lot. It would also make downloading at work much easier as SDCentral is having a diagreement with our proxy every so often. Paul ~SDC~
Louie, I have seen this too (back in 4Z) it appears to be an odd number of items (!), and only seems to be the case for minor races. To be more explicit trades like this always seem to occur with minor races: 1) Select two of their planets (yellow trade) 2) Offer a technology (yellow trade) 3) Select another planet (green every time). I will look for a save game with this.
Auto-starbase completion would be a truly great thing. As far as I can think that is the only (!) tedious micromanagement in the whole game now :)
Hi, Playing 3E I have noticed a couple of things which seem odd: Tribute: In one of my games I am currently unable to offer to trade anything to anyone for tribute - I can select the amount and duration, but when I select done nothing is added to the 'barter box'. Is this intentional? Is there any way to view existing tribute? Special Resources: Is there any way to quickly locate special resources using the galaxy map - I am currently having to (painfully) scan
