I believe in the concepts of primary Ideology and Ideology purity. As you accrue Ideology Points, whichever major Ideology has the most of your points is your primary Ideology. That is how you get diplomatically labelled. The ratio of your primary ideology to your total points is your purity ranking. This raises your diplomacy rating with factions of the same ideology and lowers the diplomacy rating with the two

I said long ago that I think the Ideology system would be better with like one choice per turn that does something small.. but the choices add up over time to have effect.... Example turn. "there was a radiation leak on planet x what do you do?" Choice1 "Clean it up spend 10bc credits" +1% moral Choice2 "eh.. quarentine the area and clean it up slowly" 1bc credits loss of 1% moral" Choice3 "who cares?

So I know that Brad said in a different thread that they were going to be looking at the map generation system and that a large part of this may be due to the strangeness in the map generation. But in every game I have played I find myself with very little Duratanium, Elerium, and AntiMatter with HUGE HUGE HUGE amounts of the other two... The use of strategic resources needs to be balanced... but I was thinking that perhaps it could be balanced in a dif
Quoting x-cessive, reply 1 Number 8 could be the result of techs that reduce module mass. So it might not be a bug. Actually, the mass in designer is higher than on tech tree. See Ion Drive for example. Tech tree: 8 mass, Designer: 23 or so. [

So is there a way to turn off auto upgrades globally? I've been going through and doing it for each planet individually.... and I can't say I have found a way to do it globally (I've also not really looked)

I agree... I'd rather see more music... like different sound tracks for the different ideologies, or techno in the research screen.. the soundtrack for the game is not bad... but more would be cool! Some audio might be fun... also Stardock need not hire Big name people for the voice acting.... I'm sure Paul and Brad some of the others wouldn't sound horrible with their own voices.... right?

Audio files are big.... (as in the amount of system resources they use to work right) given everything else the game does and keeps track of, adding an audio file is a rather large undertaking. It has to be timed with the weapon fire/hit sounds it has to be timed with the ship movements/animations It has to be small enough so as to not have multiple "we have engaged..Taking...battle..evacuate!" overlapping tracks... thats a lot of work

One thing I think people miss is that the social production is now completely separate from ship production. Once a planet is built out that social production cannot be added to making ships faster. you can use it to make more spys, citizens, research, or other but it doesn't do anything for your ships... Late game I have been able to crank out a citizen using my best world in 9 turns. so that more than d
I agree on some of this. I've spent a lot of time coding on all these points. The biggest problem is they don't let the AI design it's own ships. I only can choose among the crummy ships that it generates. It's very very frustrating. At some point we will probably write a full on ship designer AI. But that's like a solid 2 months of work.
So back in the base game, the AI players were

Hey, Thank you for writing this huge post up. I'm going to add some comments in the below quoted area. Anything in Green is added by me.
I'm just a lurker here, but do have some considered feedback to share. This will seem quite negative and critical so I have to be clear that this is not a review - it's an open feedback post intended to be constructive criticism. I have 535 hours c

So just a random thought. Cities never upgrade. You can stack bonuses but the city themselves never get any better. Given the population/morale balance why not have a late game tech that allows cities to upgrade (at high cost, lets say a whole bunch of a whole bunch of resources) to Metropolises

So i'm much more of a casual gamer these days and tend to not mod much. I had a bunch of custom ship designs back in Base GCIII that have all vanished in Crusade. Is there any reason why I cannot copy those templates from the base folder and drop them into the Crusade folder?

2 Replies 16,910 Views

Triple.. My post was not missing your point, just explaining that the current game GCIII focuses on resource management more than Resource Exploration/management. In the current game there is not an easy way to implement this. THAT SAID: Compare Base to Crusade... Stardock totally rebuilt the engine and base mechanics for Crusade. So perhaps in the next expansion they might add some of what
