Yes eXpanding in a 4X game is a colony rush love the terminology of bullshit, yet all the major AI in gifted and above will be the ones that have eXpanded. Colony rush = focusing on ONLY the eXpanding part. in CGII if you over expanded before researching economy, your economy would crash and burn and you would be done. you could at max

Honestly what you've wrote has actually valid criticisms of the game. There is more micromanagement now early across the board. No aspects are more streamed lined at all. If I'm wrong then planting your factories and planet management is real tedi

yes... if you own the planet it is next to. You get the buff. I've had that show up as the first mega event and have like +400 raw production per planet by the end of the game. it's seriously OP but fun.

Back in early GCIII I was totally on the scale speed/research/etc to map size bandwagon. But I think scaling admin directly to map size from the start of the game would be a huge mistake. Here's why: 1. Puts undo emphasis on colony rush. 2. would make tall empires unviable. 3. Removes the need to balance the opportunity costs of advancement. Strictly put. you don't

Nope.. and this seems to be a major oversight.. The rational behind this is that you should be researching economy buildings or building economy starbases, or getting wealth building citizens. The oversight issue here is that if you go negative everything stops until you are positive. So if you go negative and you have not ALREADY done the research for the econ buildings and citizens... you might not have any means to pull yourse

Personally, I'd love blind research be an integral part of the game. Only races with X can see their tree more than a few techs out. Mind you, once you have played a few times this is no longer a hindrance, but if there were a few random techs that were "inspirations" or something that could add flair to the game. That said.... while SMCiv was the inspiration for the GalCiv they are totally different games in a lot of ways.&nbsp

You want a simple solution but not so simple solution? Administrators should create Projects or Commands once a Project point or Command Point, or Bureaucracy point is used up it is gone. Simply changing the name of the "admin point" to something else will simplify things. Update the tool tip to show what they were spent on. Create a building that is Empire Unique and call it the Continuing Edu

So I asked this previously and got no response but perhaps Stardock themselves can answer. In the Civ designer you can choose a drop down list of preset ship colors. 1. How do we add custom colors to that list? 2. Why can't we just hit a custom button and select our own? it seems that there should be a much wider selection of color options than is being allowed.

Please note my earlier post was made in a bit of tongue in cheek jest. I am and have always been impressed with how responsive to the community Stardock is. also simply the ABILITY to run a game of this nature is impressive... very very impressive.

I envision a bad steam review in the future... "I tried playing this game at max settings and it totally lagged. What kinda of two bit game lags in 2017?!?!?!" Give them what they want and they will still hate you.. >.> Hey Brad, is there any way you can build like a Computer tester thing that players can run that tells them if their system can run the game at x settings? ther

I like having administrators be a limited resource. So here's my thought... If you make no changes: Change the tool tip to show them as used rather than active Once the admin is used it is used. doesn't matter what it was used for.. it was used. If you refund admin for decommissioned ships/starbases add a bureaucracy cost first one is free, next is 100credits then 500 then 1000 &
Because the administrators aren't aboard the ships themselves. They administrate logistical needs from capitol building offices. Admins aren't usually the hands on types. I don't care that they are gone it just annoys me that it still says they are being used for such and such when they aren't. Just subtract them from the total available instead. They aren't still being used, they are gone. [/quote
Would it not be possible to replace the custom ship appearnace with a generic one for the player who doesn't have the custom civ? (So, the only one who sees the custom-looking ship is the 'owner', with everyone else just seeing a generic-looking ship which has all the same abilities, properties and attributes of the custom ship)? I'm surprised that wouldn't already be the case, after what happened with the man
