Social is used for building improvements and projects (e.g. recruiting citizens).
Huh.... I've not gotten to that point but now I know how to build a very very tall empire... get a planet with maxed out social and just recruit Citizens

I've only had about 8 hours to play the game since the founders beta went live on Monday so at the moment I'm just tinkering and finding ways to lose.. I'm having a blast. I really enjoy the changes, especially the unique buildings that can be built on the planetary resources. However I am curious about the social production vrs military production vrs total production... What does social production modify? It seems that onc
Hmm... I think that I don't like this change. implying that minor races are only capable of being speedbumps and nothing more implies that the only thing valuable about them is their worlds to absorb. .... Benevolent races aught to be able to get a bonus in trade, or diplomacy for "uplifting" the minors rather than destroying them.
Does being fixed internally mean it will be fixed for the actual release today?
It has worked every time for me. However, there is no longer the news pop up on the screen. it is over on the left side info report thing now. If you don't click on that to figure out the system it could be hard to find as the game no longer puts this world in the systems you already own. It has always appeared in a near-by star system that is not inhabited. (which sorta sucks for production but a world is a world i
One of the things that really impressed me with early Gal Civ was just how BIG the maps were. If you had a huge map with tight clusters you could spend a good portion of the game finding ways to even reach the other areas. This seems to be gone in the current build. I also enjoy having abundant habitable planets and that seems to make everything just even more squished together. I don't want a change to the number of planets or stars pe
Well that sounds cool. Now someone needs to release a tech tree chart with all the techs related to traits and abilities. Going to take me forever to figure out my new race. I can see Brad smiling now. Guess the AI can kill me now I have no idea how to play the game again. This is the fun part too.
THIS Relearning the game is exciting. So f
Sorry accidentally posted this in the main forum.... moved it to founders.
So I've not gotten a chance to play much since 1.83 or so. I know sometime around 1.9 Brad got involved and increased the number of objects significantly, but to do this he decreased map sizes... So now I fired up Crusade and a Love the changes. I'm really enjoying how the game plays now. But it bugs me how close together everything seems. Even on an Immense map it seems that I'm encountering other major civs right away (and I purpos
There are a lot of people that are doing some absolutely crazy things with the ship designer. Now that we can create whole new civilizations and what not... Is there a way to ADD or change the colors that are found in the color-schema drop down menu? I would like to change which color shows up where on my ships but it seems that these are pre-set and locked in. how do I change these or add more?
Yes... Yes you can I'm guessing that with the change to constructors in Crusade though this will become a rather moot point however...
Aside from the Founders Beta.... before the release. Also the Founders Beta had a whole bunch of people making terrible reviews even though the game SAID Pre-release in all the screens. Perhaps Steam has fixed some of their stuff but all of the early access titles have reviews available that often ruin the public perception of the game. That said... now that they have the release date posted. It would be nice to
Yeah you pay for Beta access then have to jump thru hoops like discord and still do not get code. Well not that they care but I will no longer be paying full price for anymore Stardock products. "Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me". There will not be a burn me twice.
You were never once promised beta access to ALL releases. Founders were given beta access to the original gam
I wish I had time to participate in the testing and was playing.... I've been on this forum since 2002... which predates the original Gal Civ (I was using Windows Blinds and Object Dock or something of the sort back in the day)(still do actually) I eagerly await the release of Crusade as I've enjoyed the crap out of every version of Gal Civ... unfortunately I don't have the time to actually play the game much... let alone bug test. Perhaps if Star Dock op
Just my 2 cents... As the Generals are tied to the citizens... there can be a few ways to fix just the generals without breaking the rest of the citizen level things. A. But a few focus research areas that grant you x number of Generals make sure that the other to focus's are also really good to offset this B. make it so the Generals can train x many "troop commanders" Troop Commanders can invade but get no bonuses to th
I am pretty sure we are not going to get the beta this month. There were way too many issues in the stream yesterday for a release. While I want the beta I am way more than happy to wait for a robust, stable game.
What he said. I believe Stardock is very much WANTING to get the game out as soon as pos
Not sure about not being able to be moved (once they settle, they're not leaving) Early game you focus on one thing, while mid and late games your goals can be totally different. Why focus on Research in late game when I have 90% of tree already researched? I want to move that citizen to Military. People change jobs all the
Will we trusted founding fathers get an opt-in of the current Crusade version to play, now mid february? Did Brad mention that, or did I dream again?
They usually release updates on Thursday or Friday... My bet is Feb 17 will be the drop date.
I've never seen anything like that. I suspect that this is the effect of a mod and not the base game.... that is if it is a genuine screen shot and not something highly doctored to make a point.
I would love to see the UP have an update too. United Planets will meet in 1 turn. Vote will be on X. you have one turn to convince everyone to vote for you.. bribes, threats, trades.. and appropriate penalties for breaking trust... It's really annoying that there is no way to even try to sway the vote...
+1 agree with all points above. The research/economic/culture treaties should give the benefit to both parties. It is described this way in-game, but the xml code only applies to the receiving party of the treaty. For general diplomacy, something similar to the diplomacy missions from SINS would be nice. Offer drengin x credits to take out specifc starbases/planets. Would add
I'm just glad they are getting rid of the support for DX10 DX12 would be great, but there are a lot of people that... A. don't have Windows 10 B. Don't have Vid Cards that support DX12
Hours spent playing GCII and GCIII Too many to count.. Hours of that time actually spent designing ships... also way too many to count. The ship designer is not needed to make these games fun to play... but they are some one engrossing way to make me forget how fast time does indeed pass when having fun.
