And they're presently starting work on a Vampire-based MMORPG. Awwww....I wanted them to do a Werewolf MMORPG! I also like the WhiteWolf Mage system.

There's no way that this could be implemented with a mod, and it would take a complete overhaul to change the grid size. I also think that it would be a bad idea to increase the grid size. You can have 900+ planets on a gigantic galaxy. That's 900x100x200 tiles to deal with. In order to make that remotely playable, now you have to have improvements that take multiple tiles, which adds more complexity, and would require more micromanagement. I'm sure we said

We had hoped that the memory leaks that we fixed in the 1.6 betas were the cause of the out of memory bug, but it turned out that we hadn't found all of them yet. So sorry for the delay, but we think that we have squashed the last and worst of the leaks. We've also fixed a crash when you have the background stars (or point sprites) turned off. Thanks to the people who sent in their files so that we could reproduce the problem. I'm posting this as a test bui

If deleting the prefs.ini fixes the crashes, it's probably something to do with your resolution. I generally recommend setting your resolution to the same resolution as your desktop, particularly if you're running in widescreen. The debug.err reports your desktop resolution in a line like this: Current Display Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (60Hz) The first value is the width, the second is the height. You can set the display width and height manually in the Prefs

Maurice, Hmm...well I didn't really see anything obvious in your debug.err so I forwarded it to our 3D engine guru to see if he can find anything. You don't have anything running in the background or systray that could be causing constant refreshing, do you? Or if you have any anti-virus or internet security programs running, try excluding the GalCiv2 folder and binaries.

To increase the amount of Virtual Memory available to Windows: 1) Right click on the My Computer icon and chose properties 2) Click on the advanced tab 3) Under performance, click on the Settings button. 4) Click on the advanced tab 5) Click on the change button 6) Change the initial size to the recommended size and then increase the maximum size. As a note, you should make sure that you have enough hard drive space left for the maximum virtual memory

If you take that argument then the single mother struggling to make ends meet whouses hand me downs, maybe even from her own, older, children, instead of buying new clothes is just as 'guilty'. What a fundamentally ludicrous position to take. This is a flawed comparision. Clothes can only be worn by one person at a time and once resold, do not continue to benefit the original owner. There is nothing to stop someone from buying our game, i

Mo2k, the debug.er is supposed to be in the same directory as your GC2DarkAvatar.exe, unless you were running vista, and then it would be in your Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar folder. Are you running in a limited user account?

If you are still experiencing slowdown issues, please try this build and turn OFF the Enhanced Ship Rendering option. You may also need to turn off the Allow Mixed Vertex Processing option. http://sd.stardock.com/carielf/da_1_6_rc1.zip
