Alex and I were talking about that the other day. I was in favor of having a bunch of preset buttons across the top of the screen where you could preset a bunch of games, and Alex wanted to have them as a seperate option on the main menu, under "Load Scenarios." As for the Tab key, Pear does not currently support it to cycle through controls. I don't know how much of a priority either of these features would get...

There is currently nothing to notify you that an alien race has conquered your system. It would be pretty simple to implement, though. I'll run it by Brad. The alien races are available, just not their portraits. Another key to help you with your population is to make sure that you build social projects. They help keep your people happy ala the Romans' Bread and Circus. --Cari
This is after you've attempted to exit the game. As soon as the game crashes, you need to copy the debug.err file and either post it here or e-mail it to me along with a description of what was going on, to the best of your knowledge. --Cari
Grr..I haven't gotten one of those for weeks...
Is everyone using the Gal Civ theme on WinCustomize? :)
There are no save games implemented yet. You can also hit Ctrl-Q to quit. You should be able to colonize a planet up until it's actually colonized by an alien ship...

Colony ships sat next to >their destination, and refused to colonize. Was there anything that might have blocked them? Were there red destination cursors on the stars? If you selected them, did they have any moves left? The first debug message is harmless, the second indicates that something is not quite right with the code that does the shi
Ok, I've spent A LOT of time this morning going through all the posts. These are the bugs that have been reported -- please do not repost them. If you have additional information about the conditions under which the bug occurred, you can go ahead and reply either to this message or to one of the other messages where it was posted. Maybe I'll come up with a more efficient manner for you to report bugs, but until then please try to read other people's bug reports first before you add to the leng
Click with the mouse to get rid of the splash screen. We want to hear any feedback that you have, so comments about the icons are welcome. As for the "red goodie", I assume that you're talking about the shield. That means that Sol is protected by something with a defense value. As for the bank error message, that's a bit of a joke. That pops up when you go through one of the space anomolies. It will have several different messages and graphics in the future. The mes
Yes, the FOW is buggy. There are enemy stars there, possibly also enemy ships. Hopefully the contractor who wrote the FOW code will be available to work on that soon...I have notified him earlier than this, but we haven't received any updates from him. I addressed the ESC button in the other note. The ship queue is not implemented yet. I know that it's a pain, and I'm sorry. It's on our list. :notsure: :notsure: :notsure:
I'm going to leave the graphical issues alone for now because they're going to have be discussed with both programmers and artists... Text in the News box needs to wrap. Addressed this in GreenReaper's post. It will eventually. Just watched an enemy colony ship make 5 moves in one turn. I think that Brad has the enemies able to move faster than Terran ships...I'm not sure though. The random event flashing star only gives 10
You could always copy this into an e-mail and send it to me. :) >There is "clicked" feedback on the entry screen even ?>when you've clicked somewhere that does nothing - I >think it should only give a sound when you select a >faction (or should give a different sound when you >click somewhere that does nothing). Do you mean on the setup screen? The setup screen has focus issues that I'm going to have to figure out... >It wasn't clear that viewing a research goal on th
I don't know what's causing the colony ship naming thing. That's just plain weird, and I haven't seen it. I have seen the fast switchy bug, though. Did it happen when you had two of your own ships occupying the same space? Fredrik is also missing mp3 files from the Event and Music folders. I don't think that it will make a difference yet because I'm currently only using the wav files.
paxx: The definition of the word 'toady', according to dictionary.com (since I don't have my hard copy dictionary here at work with me) is: A person who flatters or defers to others for self-serving reasons; a sycophant. Basically, a person who sucks up to someone else. Some toadies go to the extremes of making themselves practically the personal slave of the person they are toadying to. They're generally slimy, whining, and cowardly people, if the term is accurately applied.
Earlier this year at a family reunion, I had the chance to talk to two atheists (who both have degrees in philosophy and who both used to be Christian). They are both monalists (sorry if I'm spelling it wrong), which means that they believe that there is nothing more than the physical, that emotions are merely firing synapses. Basically, that humans are little better than machines. Because one of them was my cousin and the other was another cousin's boyfriend, it was a civilized discussion.
