It's raining and miserable here too.

Mine is kind of involved. When I first got online and started going in chat rooms, I used the name LadyImp. Lady because I was really into dressing up for the Renaissance festival, Imp because at the time I had less of a sense of dignity than I do now. When I changed ren fest costumes to go as a peasant, I changed to Cari_Imp. Eventually I acquired a sense of dignity and decided that "Imp" wasn't appropriate anymore. I've always loved elves in book
Hmmm...well, there's always my amazon list...can you see stuff that has already been purchased now? Well, safer bets would be something like a gift certificate to Walmart so that I can download mp3s. ($0.88 instead of $0.99 at iTunes). Looks like the WOW gift cards are too expensive. I really want TransAmerica but I might have to buy that myself to make sure that I get it. mething with close stats that has a better chance of surviving? When the fleet code goes to pick which ship gets attacked first, it will take into account both current hitpoints and attack level.
Percents are where things get messy.
n code was causing part of its own slowdown, not just all the ships and planets updating.
We had a set list of things that needed to work in GC2 by the end of November, pretty much the very basic elements of Gal Civ that would let you play and win or lose by military means. We finished that, and so yesterday Brad gave us his feedback. One of the things that he brought up was that the end of the turn was taking too long. Now, we really haven't changed al
Joe says that the engines are on the back, so you can't see them.
. I'm not even sure that the tactical map would be in the manual for GC1. Our manual has a lot missing.
Wow, seeing a lot of familiar nicks. Welcome back to those of you who haven't been around in awhile. I'm happy to see you.
Sounds like Stardock is doing an evil microsoft thing by making it expensive to buy copies online but not shipping any retail to stores thus forcing people to buy directly from them.
And when was the last time that you purchased and downloaded a Microsoft product online? You can't. At any rate, we are not sneaky and we do not try to rip people off.
Oh yeah, you think Strategy First is being bad to you, but screwing customers by making them
Efthimios, my point was that when you're zoomed out in tactical mode, you'll pretty much get what you're asking for. I think. As I mentioned earlier, the minimap is going to have an options screen to toggle what it shows.
acromanagers while not interfering with the micromanagers, and the middle ground people could ignore them entirely if they chose.
l, it might have gotten out of whack.
We will probably have modules that add the abilities that the Paladin, Sovereign, Wraith and Vampire ships had. Where they will fall in the tech tree, I don't know.
Efthimios, check out our journals where I show screenshots of tactical mode.
I start getting an uneasy feeling every time that someone asks for a way to automate something. Zoning + queues are reasonable for the planet management screen. Queues on starbases combined with rallypoints are reasonable. Maybe a research queue. But I keep seeing new suggestions for things that people want to be automated, like what fleets should attack. And at some point, you're just going to be sitting there hitting the turn button. Is that fun? Sh
Well, I'm here, of course. Hi magus! Long time no see!
Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories and choose command prompt. Then type msconfig at the prompt and hit enter. Depending on what version of windows you're running you can also bring up a command prompt by typing cmd in the Start->Run box.
I didn't have any lag yesterday playing on Dalaran, but today it's one of the servers that is down for maintenance. And I guess that all their servers are having problems today. I managed to get on to Uther long enough to create a human priestess named Callahanne. Doesn't look like I'll be able to play at all tonight though.
The sectors are going to be bigger than they were in Gal Civ 1. We're going to play with the size of the sector, the number of possible stars, and the number of possible planets in it to get the best look/functionality out of it.
atever zoom you are comfortable working with. I made all my screenshots with tactical mode because the difference in viewable area is most noticeable.
Ozar, are you using a custom map or custom planet, and are you using the latest version from Stardock Central?
I think that we've mentioned a couple of times that GC2 will support resolutions higher than 1024 x 768. Instead of just stretching everything like most games do, though, we actually are going to use the extra space. So by going to a higher resolution, you will actually get to view more of the star map than if you were running at the basic 1024x768. Also, if you ru
1024 x 768, you'll be able to run at a higher resolution, either in windowed mode or fullscreen. I'll post an example in the journals section.
