Yes, I know it's Wednesday and I'm just now posting the poll thread for the week. And I'm also aware that the poll has in fact been up for a full day already. There are very good reasons for all of this, I assure you. With all the announcements and major news going on the last two days, I didn't want the big "VOTE NOW" button to be lost in the chaos. I also wanted to give people a day or so for the

Casualtraveler, In some cases, you'll see them come out as full-fledged MyColors Themes. At the very least they will become Master Skins a year after they're posted here. They're meant as an incentive to subscribe to the site.

Good Morning! I'm glad that the vast majority of you were able to quickly identify the joke. What was the first tip off? The heavy over-dramatic tone? The photo of Brad's porsche with Angie standing behind it? Perhaps it was the ridiculously arbitrary "cost" that made no sense? Maybe it was the really silly photoshop on the subsequent 3 photos with my, seabass and milksama's names edited in? I bet everyone was fooled until the gee
i wouldnt mind the increase for a fleet of new cars , if they were all electric or solar XD, (as i believe we should do everything we cam do to save the planet) but gas cards im tottaly against, of course all people can see is shiny new car . not its going to spew more co2. if you say its a highbrid ill slap you, cause i doubt you use ethonal gas in it XD
Actually, they run on the tears of clubbed baby seals. And that stuff is WAY more expensive than gas, but we
I'm sorry, but I just don't like the fact of getting a rate hike because "we are now offering $60 in free skins a year". I mean what if I don't want the subscriber skins. Or, what if I only like 2 or 3 of them which is probable. I am not saying I won't resubscribe, but it definitely puts me on the fence now. I don't mean to be negative, that is just how I feel.
That's what the subscription is now. Sorry, but we won't be separating the subscription into multiple t
Today we announced that the subscription price for WinCustomize was going to go up $10/year from $20 to $30. Now, of course we had to come up with a good justification for this, something that would fool the sheep of the forums into believing we did this for their own good and that they're getting the better end of the deal. But, just between you and me? Complete BS. As some of you may know, today's Angie's birthday, so as a gift the company bought her a ne
They're going to be selling the themes, and the .msstyles are only going to be a piece. Why on earth would they let them be converted and posted here for free?
The price has increased because we are now also offering $60 in Stardock skins each year. If that's not worth the extra $10 to you, I can't argue the point really. Either way, we don't haggle on product prices. Like I said, you happened to catch it in that brief window while everything was being updated the other day. There was no intention to deceive.
Like I said in the podcast yesterday , some folks were already subscribed out to 2017. A handful of you made out like bandits on this change :)
The pricing for the Subscriber discount isn't final yet, but I'd bet it would be very close to, if not the same as the ODNT discount since people could be purchasing these that only own WindowBlinds and not the rest of ODNT.
After months of testing, today Stardock is proud to release DeskScapes 2.0 ! Now, all Windows Vista users can enjoy animated wallpapers on their PC without having to shell out hundreds of dollars for Windows Vista Ultimate. DeskScapes 2.0 brings video and dynamic Dreams to all Vista Users. If you're new to DeskScapes today with 2.0, then you have o
There will be no double-discounts.
It counts. Ratings are all taken and averaged based on a formula. The more 5 star ratings a skin has, the less a 4 star rating can impact the overall number. Same thing if a skin has a bunch of 3 star ratings, a single 5 star rating won't be able to move it as much.
For years now, a WinCustomize subscription primarily allowed you to browse the site completely ad-free, gave you fully access to the Skin Browser, and every now and then a free skin from Stardock. In recent months, we've been talking about how to change the site subscription model to make it a better value to users, with the goal obviously to encourage more
Happy Birthday!
The missing images is a known issue and on the fix list when I can pry a developer away from another project :)
There is one point where flooding articles can be detrimental to other users on the site: It makes it virtually impossible to find any other content on the site without digging pages into the recent archives. What you are doing is effectively crowding out other users content. One thing to keep in mind is that you have joined a blogging COMMUNITY. What this means, in case it has escaped you, is that you're a part of that group and that your blog does not exist in a va

I fixed the page. Someone else had tried to edit the post and broke the player control.
Rick: itpc:// is to launch iTunes with the feed. As for the player not playing... what browser & version? nauticalpixel: You were expecting me to spell it out? ;-)
This week we get dangerously close to the 30 minute mark as we take on topics such as the latest Master Skin, the demise of the GUI Champs wallpaper event and upcoming changes to the WinCustomize Subscription plan. Joining us this week on the show is Zubaz, site moderator and long-time community member. This is without a doubt our best show so far as we get a feel for how to record the show and what
I'm confused. Is this supposed to be an ad for a new community site?
Alfonse, Your statement that users are forced to buy optional content packs seems to be entirely based on the assumption that those content packs hold fixes to bugs, or somehow complete an otherwise incomplete product. That the existence of a content pack implies that part of the original game was somehow intentionally limited so we could sell the extra $10 download. You also talk about how it's obvious we make more off of expansions than we do off of the main game.
I have been updating prices and information pages through the morning to make sure all the prices match up. You happened to be going through the site as I was making all the updates. I apologize for the confusion. If you're still seeing the 19.95 price listed somewhere, please let me know. I've hit all the pages on my list, but there may be an old old old reference somewhere we've forgotten about.
